[VY] Official "I'm A Believer" Thread I won't lie. At the beginning of the season I thought VY was being overhyped. I thought he was being pretty overrated for someone who had 12 TDs to 11 INTs last season. I loved what he did against Michigan (I was raised an OSU fan, so anyone who can do that to Michigan is alright in my book). However, after this season I've seen him mature exponentially as a passer. After the win against OSU, I knew he was going to be something special. And now, leading his team to a last-second win against ESPN-proclaimed "Best Team in the History of College Football". I told my dad during this game, "Man, VY is cool as a cucumber". He just looked like he knew the game was his when given that last possession. Vince Young, I'm now a believer. I really hope he is serious about sticking around. He will be a joy to watch next year and I can't wait to watch the early match-up against OSU. How many more days til kickoff?
he put the whole state of texas on his back...and I now have to add another man crush to my list (the other mcgrady)
hes got great visionon the runs and I think he sees the defense pretty well too. His throwing mechanics, however, ugh. Thats gonna hold him back in the NFL
Tonight is the ideal night for VY to try to bang Jessica Simpson. ....then Nick gets Matt to call OJ!
That was by far the best performance I have ever seen. IMO VY is the greatest college football player EVER!
More improvement from one season to the next than just about any other QB I've ever seen. Mack said repeatedly how much of a "competitor" VY is...he was right.
Vince = Hakeem + Vernon + Sam + Horry + Otis Vince = Hakeem + Vernon + Sam + Horry + Otis Its official, I've moved Vince next to Dream as the greatest Houston/TX hero. =
i was always a believer, but tonight he did more than i ever thought possible. i was somewhat worried what this game might do to the vince young aura. if we had lost, we would have to admit there was something he couldn't do. some challenge he couldn't overcome, that he could actually lose. and now, he comes out of this game with his aura bigger than ever. with his legend not only intact, but increased. it's almost seemed like magic the way we pull out games with him here. no matter what has to happen, we win. but there was a chance this game, while not dimishing VY, could make us have to admit he wasn't perfect. and down 12 with 6:42 to go. i figured it was either the end of the road, or Vince Young really was the Chosen One and we were going to see the most amazing comeback ever. and well, we got the most amazing comeback ever. there really are no words to describe what Vince Young has meant to UT football, or hell, the whole University.
That was without a doubt the greatest individual performance in a game with that high of stakes that I have ever witnessed. Vince Young is going to be MJ To Michael Vick's Drexler. he's one bad mutha
Mods merged tinman's "VY = Hakeem+clyde, etc, etc" thread into this one.. along with my post about how this was the appropriate thread. I'm holding court just fine
other than a highlights i probably only watch a handful of college football games a year, but that was an amazing performance by vince young. he was clearly on another level out there. watching him run through usc was to me alot like watching t-mac. they both look almost effortless in their domination.
