VY is an amazing player and always keeps them close...I was hoping they'd beat Indy, but that'll be the Texans job this coming week... I don't understand the hate, unless it's just Longhorn envy or just pure hate for the Titans...
Mostly, it's the latter. There are roughly 27 teams he could've been drafted by that I would've rooted my heart out for him. He just happened to be drafted by not only a division rival, but the team that used to be the Oilers who a great number of Houston Texans fans already hated. One player isn't enough for me to forget what Bud Adams did to us Oiler fans.
There will never be a truce because even if there is a self imposed no Titans/VY talk in Houston sports, Texans fans will hate on VY and the Titans in the Hangout. It is inevitable. Why can't we get along?
quoted for TRUTH this is roughly how I feel ^^^ one thing I gotta mention....there is a significant portion of the populace that doesnt give one single wit what school you went to. what college you went to is not the most important thing in life to most of us normal people. If I am apathetic towards this guy, it is only because he plays for Satan's team...anywhere else, I would have gladly cheered for that team (except when they play the Texans or if was Dallas) because he is a good athlete from my state. UT hate?? please...what school someone went to doesnt even begin to factor into my decision making process. I could care less.....but just barely.
Yep, if Vince played for any other team besides the titans or crackboys, that team would probably be my 2nd favorite team as long as it's not a division rival. Seriously. I don't hate Vince, I hate the titans.
The crackboys rock. VY there would have double rocked. Talk about something I never understood, Houston Oiler/Texans fans hating on the Boys. The Boys have never done a single damaging thing of significance to Houston pro football. We had the Steelers, Chiefs, Bills and Bengals to do that. Now hating on the Mavs & Spurs, that I understand. But since the Cowboys or Rangers never had significant encournters with the Oilers/Texans (in fact I think in there few encounters, the Texas/Oilers have most often come out well) or Stros, hating on them made no sense unless it is just from a total inferiority complex--and who wants to proud of that.
VY playing for Dallas would be worse than VY playing for the Titans. Dallas is one of the top franchises in the NFL with the best ratings. Dallas has way more haters than the Titans.
I don't hate them NEARLY as much as I hate the titans for the reasons you mention, but come on. They're from dallas. How could any houston sports fan NOT hate them? FYI... you CAN hate another team/city without having an "inferiority complex"... Do you, as a Rocket fan, have an inferiority complex when it comes to the mavericks? Is that why you hate them?
Dallas have Jerry Jones, who is a jerk, and makes lots of people hate Cowboys, As for VY, he is a winner, and good person, I do not why someone hate him?
I think the Bud Adams hate is exaggerated. Its not as bad as Cleveland fan hating on Art Model. If Bud Adams allowed Houston to keep the Oilers name, no one would really care that much now about the team leaving.
Have you actually read any of the responses? I'm not so sure why it's hard to grasp for so many of you.
love for the hometown hero > hate for the division rival of a new team lets not kid ourselves, Texans vs Titans isn't Red Sox vs Yankees or Lakers vs Celtics or Redskins vs Cowboys
so, how many of yall live in the same hometown as the hometown hero? sure, it has nothing to do with anything, but just curious.
you should start a poll Kam. Who in Houston is a Titans fan or who grew up in houston or lives currently in Houston .. All these 'Titan' fans are probably not from Nashville.
he isnt *my* hometown hero. I never heard of the guy before his last year in college, and that is only because of this board. hatred of Satan Adams >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> some guy that played for UT period....end of discussion btw...DScar It has alot to do with the "America's Team" thing, and a bit of the absurd amount of hype Dallas has gotten over the years as *the* representative city of Texas in the national and internationl media. I dont like Dallas as a city, I dont like any of their teams, I detest driving thru Dallas even.... I dont feel inferior to ANYONE....I just flatout dont like em.
