i was speaking specifically to specific poster. The other explanation is my own theory which i can prove. Its not like A&M fans like Vince Young. So A&M NFL fans wouldn't like him either. You can't deny there's a college rivalry part of it. UH Sucks!
They go around with cheese on their heads and wear no shirts in the winter. I wouldn't do that for the Rockets.
The more the Texans rise up, the more people will forget about VY, and rightfully so. VY would not be as popular here if Bud Adams had not taken the Oilers away. Houston fans just didn't have much else to care about. It was either a new, struggling pro team or a local kid leading UT to a Championship. But not that has come and gone and our new team is doing well so the VY stuff will die down just like his "it" factor and his "magic". The real Houston fans will be left standing, the man lovers will have nothing left to talk about and will be hiding in shame wearing Titans shirts. **** UT. Go Houston.
Ha ha....or not. I stopped believing in assclowns long ago, and you're still around aren't you? Nice theory, though.....Houstonians haven't had anything to cheer about since the Oilers have been gone. I mean, it's only had an NBA, MLB, WNBA, Minor league Hockey, MLS, and several local universities to cheer for for a couple of weeks now, right? That must be why the Houstonians suddenly took interest in VY. And I've been wondering about that for a while, now....
VY played football. Houston football fans didn't have much since the evil owner of the evil Titans took them away. He even buried the name Oilers so we couldn't use it again. If we still had the Oilers and they were a decent team, the VY love would be 1/100 of what it is- I mean was.
Actually if the Oilers were still there Vince Young would be Houston's quarterback and the vibe would be akin to Earl Campbell and LUV YA BLUE. Can't change any of this now though.
Now that the Texans are good, VYOF's want a truce? Say what? PEACE OFFERING REJECTED. If you don't want us posting in your VY only threads, then start them here: www.gotitans.com Otherwise, you will get smacked.
i wondered about that. if the Texans had started 0-2, you know they'd be trolling nonstop. all of a sudden, tinman wants to have a serious discussion.
Why do you say that? the Oilers wouldn't be bad enough for a top 3 draft pick. That's what the state of Tennessee and the name Titans does to you. There is never a truce when it comes to the Titans. You might as well as for a truce with Mav fans. They both get the hate that they deserve.
Uh, if the Oilers had a chance to take VY and chose not to, I guarantee you people would still be pissed.
Please quit spouting this ridiculous nonsense. It's embarassing. Houston didn't want the Oilers anymore; not the team, nor the name.
People were pissed about many of the Rockets picks. They didn't become Mavs fans. Get lost Titan boy.
This would actually make sense if there were people who actually were Texan "fans" and then decided to abandon the team. The only person I know that fits that description might be MadMax, but he changed his mind once the Texans started showing promise.
If the Texans were never in that spot last year to select whoever first overall... you know where this is heading. whatever team drafted VY, that's where their allegiance would go.
You know, most VY fans WANT the Texans to do well. Just because you guys are immature 4th graders crying because someone in class likes a player on a different team doesn't mean that some of us don't want both to do well. I want VY to do well. Right now that means that I want the Titans to not suck. Does that mean I don't want the Texans to do well? Of course, not. I'm from Houston and want the team to dominate the league. I cheered for the team when they were horrible and it's good to see them succeed. I'm just not as much of a diehard as some of you are because I'm just not as big of an NFL fan and haven't been since the Oilers left. Maybe in a few years when I have kids and take them to games it'll be different because watching Oilers games with my parents and grandparents is what made them my team.
VY, the great, fan forever. great game from the Titans. win some, lose some ... i agree with former Houston coach Jeff Fisher, there are no moral victories. gottah get the job done, even if the opponent is the SB champion. 1-1 now, this time last season we were 0-2. perspective.
riiiight...and Michael Vick is the spokesman for the SPCA. and still, you think it's about Vince Young and not the Titans.
