    Harsh, but most likely true.

I guess this means that the Texans will be on tv in Austin?

Actually the Texans already are on TV there. They're not going to take us off until we become irrelevant this season (IF it happens). They even showed the entire Steelers game even when it was 35-3, when they could've switched to the Titans/Jags game that was more competitive (VY may have already been gone though). That pissed off some UT fans. LOL.

wow, definitely strange behavior for VY.
Hopefully he will get it together while out with the injury.

I think he misses college and doesn't like the businesslike ways of the NFL, similar to Ricky.

I think what we see from Vince is the result of him being pampered since he began playing football at 8 years old. His athletic prowess carried him until now, when the players he's playing against are athletically his equal and better.

He's never had the smarts to be a good NFL QB, and it doesn't appear he'll get them either. As soon as the body breaks down and he can't win the game with his legs, he's done.

He's compounding the issue by being a cry-baby and whining when Vince doesn't get what Vince wants. He's never had a crowd be critical of him, much less boo him....and he can't handle it.

I've been saying it for years....Kordell Stewart all over again. Big difference being that Kordell could actually pass the ball with some accuracy.

It reminds of those basketball players who make so much noise in high school and are tabbed "Legends," but never ultimately pan out.

I'm sure they were told that they were the best things in their AAU teams, and School teams, and had people on their knees for them, and when the real world set in, he didn't know how to act.

WOW. I was surprised to hear he was booed. The honeymoon already over for VY?

Now all this "worried about his emotional well being". Man, it's just a game. he needs to understand he can't win with just his athleticism anymore. It's not the NCAA. VY needs to learn to pass.

Thankgod Bob didn't listen to the countless UT fans in H-town.

Yeah it's obvious he knows what he's doing...

That being said, I think a big reason that VY is getting this treatment from Tenn (I acknowledge his subpar numbers) is that they wanted "hometown" Jay Cutler. If Cutler wasn't from Vandy, VY might have had a longer leash. That and the fact that NFL fans are notorious complainers about QBs.

VY needs to trust his instincts and run more. That's what made him a good passer in college. Defenses were afraid what he could do with his feet which opened up a lot in the air. It's as though he's trying to convince everyone he can pass and he gives up a lot of great running opportunities.

The problem is the hits he takes in the NFL are different from the hits he took in college. He's had all sorts of injuries already -- quad most of last year, hamstring as a rookie, hamstring in this preseason, now the knee -- that style simply isn't conducive to playing in the NFL.

I also don't believe the Cutler thing. I've lurked on a couple of Titans forums -- before things went bad for Leinart this camp and preseason, all the talk was about how they should've taken him, because his style was more that of an NFL QB. Never saw much about Cutler. I don't think most fans really care about the "hometown" factor -- and in an age where scouting video of every player on the planet is available in two seconds on your laptop or iPhone, it's a little silly to. It's amateur and a little embarrassing, and sadly Houston seems to be the worst at it. Haven't seen it nearly as much in Tennessee.

imo, he's being criticized because for the most part, he's been a terrible quarterback -- and he's regressing instead of getting better as the years pass. That's the scary thing.

By the way, the UT forums are hilarious this morning. I know this is a serious situation, but the spin is out of control. Some have decided it's a conspiracy among the Tennessee media to turn the fans against him. Others are laughing at Fisher, only arguably the most respected and experienced coach and manager of egos in the entire NFL. Some are even still poking fun at the Texans for not taking him.

I like UT, but when it comes to Vince and the NFL, these guys are seriously no better than the delusional mess they always laugh at TexAgs about. Entertaining reads.

Not surprised at all ... I saw Vince Young in the preseason and it was not a pretty sight. It just doesn't look like he's ever going to make it as a legitimate NFL quarterback. It also sounds like he might be borderline bipolar or otherwise he's starting to slip into clinical depression, from what I'm hearing about him. I suspect bipolar because this isn't the first time we've seen him display extreme reactions to circumstances around him -- compare the euphoria he displayed after winning the national championship to him visibly upset on national TV (and whining to the media afterwards) when he didn't win the Heisman, or the time he talked about retiring after his rookie year. Being bipolar would explain why his family would be worried about him leaving the house depressed and without his cellphone to the point that police were involved. I've had a bipolar friend and I remember times like that when I was sincerely afraid that he was going to go kill himself over something trivial.

I just hope he gets it together. It's like a sad, slow motion train wreck now.

He's really acting weird...Could he be bipolar?

Young's four-hour absence spurs call first to Titans, then police

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Nashville police were asked to search for Vince Young on Monday evening after family members placed a call to the Tennessee Titans informing them of their concern for the quarterback's state of mind.

    Vince Young

    Young
According to Nashville Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron, Young "abruptly" left his home in Williamson County at around 7 p.m. Monday without his cell phone. Those with him at his home, including family members, were "concerned with his emotional well-being," Aaron said.

Police issued a bulletin to all on-duty officers to be on the lookout for Young and negotiators were also placed on standby, a procedure that is common in such situations, Aaron said.

Someone contacted Fisher out of concern for Young, and Fisher contacted the police department, police said.

"Not having all the facts available to us and approaching the matter prudently, we contacted Metro Police to make them aware of the situation and asked for their assistance in locating Vince," the Titans said in a statement Tuesday. "He was located at a friend's house, where we made contact with him.

"He then came to the practice facility, where it was determined that those initial concerns by his friends and family were unfounded and he returned home without incident," the Titans said.

Young left the facility by himself in his own vehicle after speaking with Fisher and officers, police said.

Aaron said there was an unloaded hand gun in the glove compartment of Young's vehicle. But as it is not against the law in Tennessee to transport an unloaded firearm with no ammunition present, it was not an issue for the police department, he said. He could not say if the gun was registered because it was not traced.

Young was booed during Sunday's season-opening victory over Jacksonville and did not finish the game because of an injury to his left knee. The Titans are expected to reveal results of an MRI on the knee sometime Tuesday, and possibly a timetable for the quarterback's return. Fisher said Monday it's not believed to be a season-ending injury, and ESPN's Chris Mortensen has reported Young will miss two to four weeks.

After throwing an interception in the fourth quarter, Young was late to join the offense for its next series, creating speculation that he tried to take himself out of the game after throwing what was his second pick. He sat on the bench after that interception, seemingly unmoved by players and coaches who tried to console him, often holding his head in his hands.

Fisher explained Monday that the issue was tightness in Young's hamstring and that there wasn't clear communication on the sideline about his ability to return to the field. Young did return to the field, but four plays later he injured his knee.

Veteran Kerry Collins is the only other quarterback on the roster, but the Titans worked out Quinn Gray on Tuesday. The team also was looking at QB Joey Harrington and a handful of receivers, including Glenn Martinez and Chad Jackson.

I read them. The way the UT fans act about VY is actually scary. Surely these guys aren't adults? I can only think that there are a bunch of immature children posting in those threads.

I actually feel bad for Vince. He's such a competitor and his style of play simply isn't working in the NFL. He can still run in the NFL and he did in his rookie season and made the pro bowl, but he's taking some serious hits and now running isn't such an option anymore and he has all the pressure in the world on him to go out and become a better passing quarterback, but it simply isn't possible. Thats like trying to put me out here from behind a keyboard and trying to turn me into an NFL quarterback. Either you can throw or you can't. Jay Cutler looked damn good last night so that is making matters even worse. Leinart is a clown, they should be thankful they didn't draft that guy.

From what I gathered from the Tenn press, the booing was prompted as much from, if not more than, his body language/reactions from bad plays as the plays themselves. His reluctance to return to the game couldn't have helped either.

No he didn't. He was a figurehead. Mario Williams was Kubiak and McNair all the way.
