Not having any pro sports in a large city will do that to people. And please don't even start to mention the Ice Bats....
Though he shouldn't--as I think it is pretty obvious Vince Young is the most dominant, most effective, college football player, I am very confident Bush will get the Heisman and it is probably is good thing for Texas. A mad, motivated, Vince will improve their chances. Bush is great fun to watch, but he really is more of a part time player. It isn't clear he is the most valuable player on his own team as well. The real prize is Jan 4th. Texas needs VY at his sharpest.
King of 40 Acres with perhaps the worst start to a thread ever seen from a poster. isn't the Maxwell basically a "player of the year" award? so they basically said vince was the best. good, at least he gets one of those. F the heisman voters. and winning the O'Brien. and over a guy no one should even begin to compare vince to. lol.
francis 4 prez you just proved my point- the heisman is a award given to the player who has performed throughout the year. Not just the last 2 or 3 weeks of the season. Look at Vince's body of work throughout the year. Compare it to R. Bush and M. Leinart's - not much of a comparison my friend. Just because Bush put up gawdy numbers against overrated Frenso State and UCLA defenses does not mean he'll win the H-man.
Yeah Matt is great, he is the future of the NFL! Signed Chris Weinke, 2000 Heisman winner Yeah Reggie is great, he is the future of the NFL! Signed Rashaan Salaam, 1994 Heisman winner
Not to throw fuel on the fire, but I thought I saw on the ESPN ticker that Bush won some player of the year award.
can i start up a "player of the year" award, too? how many do we need? if john heisman, walter camp, and vernon maxwell can have one, i don't see why i can't. and i take vince.
How about this stat? Reggie's TD runs averaged over 30 yards. Let that sink in for a bit. He averaged almost 9 yards a carry. That's almost at Vince's yards per pass. He also had 36 plays of 20+ yards this year. All of this while playing in a much tougher conference than the Big 12 (this year, at least). Vince is great, Bush is better. Please, stop being such homers for UT for a second and be objective.
Congrats to Vince and the Longhorns. The Heisman is actually worth watching tomorrow , I think Bush will win but I would not be shocked if it is alot closer then some people think.
