Exactly. I don't like giving up Landry at all and respect Hayes's defense but it might come to that. Getting Josh Boone along with VC could soften the blow to some extent. I don't think a trade with NJ will go down in the end because the Nets won't agree to giving us anyone else of real use apart from VC. I'm not entirely sold on him either.
Yes but no team is going to want to have him for a whole year if he isnt performing. So effectively he is taking up 3 years of opportunity under us. If he is to be trdes solely as an expireing in the 2011/2012 season, its going to be towards the trade deadline. By then, and if he isnt playing well obviously, the 2011/2012 season would also be wasted.
Again, you are one year off. Carter's team option is for 2011/2012. We can cut bait before that season ever starts.

I like that proposed trade, as long as you feel like Artest isn't going to resign with us after the summer. So it comes down to Landry, Head (who we don't use) and whoever else you think we could get with the extra cap space. Won't we be over the cap anyway and limited to using the MLE until T-Mac comes off the books in 2010? If so then I say go for it....

That looks like almost every update I've ever seen about a trade rumor. It's basically the NBA trade talk equivalent of "no comment". It certainly doesn't mean there's nothing going on.
