ok, superstar poster. sorry that we don't want our divisional rival to do well. that just doesn't make any sense, does it? but like always, you think it's about you.
Great college football success does not always translate into great pro football success. It's a different game.
Going down early 0-14 was the death blow for the titans. That meant they had to rely on Vince to win the game instead of the 2 things that they've relied on all year -- their running game and defense.
What that's RIDICU-FIED!!! LOL! I mean Mr Dave is ALWAYS objective in his analyses. Mr Dave is the classic spin doctor. Let's see how good the Titans REALLY are when AJ is back on the field in 3 wks for a rematch. This is the time of the year where the pretenders start to get separated from the contenders. The Titans can't keep limping toward the playoffs with a broken rudder. If VY doesn't step up his game and fast, they WON'T make the playoffs!
It's funny that when the team is winning, it's all about stats. Now that the stats aren't that bad, it's about the team winning. Give VY time. Nobody expects him to win a Superbowl in his second year. Anyone who did is lying to themselves. In 2-3 years, VY will be a top 10 NFL quarterback. He may never be hall of fame caliber but he will win at least one Superbowl. The problem with all these threads is that nobody who doesn't like VY is ever going to be convinced that he's a good QB. Ever. It'll always be about minimizing VY's impact and overstating the other aspects of the win. It's the exact opposite for a lot of the VY fans. They tend to overstate VY's additions to the team while minimizing everyone else's. For me, it boils down to this. If I were building a franchise for the future, I would take VY at QB over any of the younger QBs out there. I think he will be one of the top 5 QBs of this generation. All QBs take a while to groom themselves. Anyone who expected VY to have taken over the league already were seriously deluding themselves. If you look only to stats, yeah he doesn't look like he's progressing. However, I'm betting that 98% of you who are on the VY-Sucks Bandwagon (sponsored by Mr. Meowgi), don't watch any of his games except those involving the Texans. That's perfectly fine, just don't pretend to be an expert on how he's progressing over the year. The Titans have a pretty dominating rushing game (not that you'd know it from the horrible performance they had today). Their passing game is the weaker part of their game. A lot of it is because VY is young and inexperienced and tries too hard to make the spectacular play instead of doing the right thing (taking a sack, throwing the ball away, etc.). That will change as he gets more experience and a better knowledge of his abilities in the pro arena. Another part of it is his lack of offensive weapons in the air. That will change over time, as well. He's improving and in a couple of years will be a great QB. I doubt he'll ever have dominating numbers but he'll do what needs to be done to win. Numbers only count in fantasy football. After all is said and done, VY is on the verge of playing in the postseason in his second year, which is more than can be said of most QBs.
It's a wonder what happens when a QB doesn't have anyone to throw to. VY doesn't even have a Reggie Wayne.
