Hedo will be gone. They cant afford him now that they got Carter. And why would they have to give up something for Sheed? He is a FA. It'd be Dwight ?(Perhaps 'Sheed if he signs) Lewis Carter Nelson
No doubt, it is looking more and more like they need to sign Sheed or Brandon Bass (or another FA PF), or else they have some serious holes. Everyone got overhyped with the Vince Carter trade and forgot about things like the salary cap. It sounds like they are going to let both Hedo and Gortat go now. Taking that into consideration: Their current roster is: C - Howard PF - Lewis SF - Pietrus SG - Carter PG - Nelson Bench: J.J. Reddick Ryan Anderson Anthony Johnson Tyronn Lue That is still one of the strongest starting fives in the league, especially considering how underrated Pietrus' all-around game is, but their bench is woefully inadequate. They need to get some front court help ASAP. Give them Sheed and I pencil them in for the Finals, easy. How perfect of a fit would that guy be with their offense...
First of all, Lee is not that good. Definitely not more of a difference-maker than Brooks. No way. Second, Turkoglu to the Rockets makes too much sense. He seems to love Adelman. Obviously knows the system. One of the only difference-makers out there that's available (assuming Amare goes to GS). The question is, can you get him w/o giving up Artest or Battier. I'd like to keep those two together. If not, I'd rather keep Battier. Is it possible for two teams to sign their free agents and trade them for each other? Has this ever happened? I'm assuming that Orlando would never consider bringing McGrady back.
I'd gladly have Hedo over Artest any day. Unlike Artest, Hedo's play last season is well worth the 10 MIll he was asking. There's no space for Artest anyway if we get Hedo so let him walk. Better yet, make a sign and trade for Artest and Hedo. Magic gets the toughness they need to support Carter's softness, while we get Turkeyglue, the real backbone of the Magic last year
Now that Cleveland has improved with Shaq, Artest would make a lot of sense for the Magic to keep Lebron in check.
