How in the world can that Magic offer not be bested by someone??? Even if we're talking expirings! For certain the Magic are leveraging on Hedo - he wants stupid money ($11-12M per) and isn't worth it at all.
ding ding ding! This Carter trade actually makes some sense, and it would seem to say that they aren't going to get into a bidding war for Hedo.
They say it's for Lee, Alston and Battie. So i'm guessing their lineup would be.. Jameer Vince Hedo Lewis Dwight That's not to shabby.
It's official now according to Real GM front page, take it for what it's worth. They are usually reliable when they report something is official.

Spears, Globe Staff June 25, 2009 04:27 PM An NBA source told The Boston Globe that a trade was just consummated sending Nets forward Vince Carter to Orlando for guard Rafer Alston, forward Tony Battie and guard Courtney Lee.
Mannnn I know Morey wanted Lee bad. I wonder if Morey is still interested and would be willing to make a separate deal with NJ for Lee, similar to what MIL did with DET swapping newly traded Oberto for Amir Johnson. I think Morey wants a complete SG who can shoot, drive, D-up and hit his free throws. Hell if we got Lee and still managed to make the deal for Amare and Barbosa, you wouldn't need to sign Wafer.
They helped the Nets cut some salaries, which we couldn't offer with Tmac's massive contract. It's all about the money these days.
Two separate deals. 1st deal: Orlando trades a trade exception for Ryan Anderson. 2nd Deal Orlando trades Rafer, Lee, and Battie for Carter. New Jersey are probably going to rely on a big 3 that consists of... Brook Lopez Devin Harris Wade/Carmelo/LeBron/Bosh whoever Also, Dooling is probably for trade because his 3 million dollar contract goes through 10/11.
