I'd offer up McGrady and Landry for Vince, Najera, and Stro Swift. NJ moves two big contracts that run past 2010, plus they get a good, young player. If the Blazers have really pulled out, what better offer does NJ have now?

You may be right. I find myself being pretty hard on Carter because while he is a good talent, there haven't been many players with a higher cieling than him as far as potential goes. So regardless to him being a good player it's frusterating to realize how much better he'd be if he had a superstar brain in his head.

Fair enough. He's not the best player in the NBA by any stretch. He's not anywhere near as good as Kobe or Lebron or Wade, but he's still good. He would serve a perfect role on this team. I hope a good deal can be worked out for him.

    我真的希望麦蒂选择退役。
I really hope that McGrady choose to retire.

People keep saying baron over vince...But how good is baron really. Yes he is an upgrade from who we call skip but if you look at his field goal percentage for his career, especially this season. Its like 40 Percent...Not to good for an elite in my opinion. We need someone more efficient. I also feel vince is a waste. But if vince could be given for tmac I would do it as that would make us a contender.

You take Vince all day long over Baron. We have a bigger gap at SG with T-mac out then at PG. Baron would have to play SG if he came here.

Not true. Davis would start over alston.

    Davis
    Artest
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

    or

    Alston
    Carter
    Artest or Battier
    Scola
    Yao

Well if you know Baron Davis and know the types of teams he played on then you should know that field goal percentage is over-rated for the type of player he is. That goes for any good player with his caliber. Put a player like Baron Davis on this Rockets team with Yao Ming Tracy McGrady( when playing ) and guys field go percentage is going to sky rocket. The better team your own the better your percentage will be if you are a player like Baron Davis. Lanes tend to open up.

Well, Rafer wouldn't be shooting if we got Vince. He would be the guy handling the ball and handing it to Carter, Artest, Scola, or Yao. Basically, the only time Rafer would shoot is off a Yao double team, and we also have Brooks.

I know your trying to make a point but I don't think Artest or Battier would be here if Baron was our Point guard. I don't think McGrady will be in the trade considering that his contract is way to high to get Davis here.

I have a bad feeling that on Saturday or Sunday we'll see a sit down interview with Tmac saying that as the "leader" of this team he needs to try and tough it out to get "his" team deep into the playoffs. Somewhere in his mind he will think the fans will see this, and be impressed by this toughness and great sacrifice he's making for us. There's at least a 60% chance this happens right?

Ridiculous? Hasn't it been said in the past (just seems I recall, long before the mcGrady hating started here) like Vince has been accused of slacking in the past when he wasn't happy... that perhaps his ethic and dedication aren't always in line with potential. I can't cite sources or anything, but seems like I'd heard that in the past about him. Conversely, he's got a couple of years on his deal left and he's playing well for a somewhat bad team. Maybe I am recalling wrong, or maybe he's not as bad as I recall hearing.

I agree he has upside, and is playing very well right now, but I would still question bringing him here for a variety of reasons, mostly related to hearing that about him, and the parallel between that and what many are feeling right now about Tmac. Not to say they are the same person.

Bottom line, I can't see trading our supposed best TWO defenders for him. He's almost 32 and has 2.5 more years on his 4 yr. 61mil contract left. eek.

The deal was McGrady for Davis and a salary to match t-mac's contract. the clippers want out of davis's deal very badly. It's never been about artest or shane for baron. I'd still do Artest and alston(if possible) for davis considering they really need an elite point guard and they could lose ron for nothing this offseason.
