I meant it takes you out of play for a free agent that year. The Artest-Carter scenario atleast allows for you to trade McGrady next year in a reloading attempt.

I don't even know what this means. You could pick any arbitrary player and trade scenario and say the same thing for any circumstance.

I have a really hard time believing NJ would consider the Carter/Hassell-for-McGrady deal their best option. 2010 implications aside, if they agree to that show me where to sign.

What does everyone think about sending a package including Shane instead of Landry?

May not be acceptable on the part of the Nets. I would rather keep Landry and/or Scola and give up Shane if possible.

From the Chad Ford chat wrap, somone mentions the trade on just how likely, or unlikely it is to happen.

Do you sweeten the deal if you have to or wait til next year and trade him then?

Do we have no chance of getting Amare anymore because of their coach change?
I rather have Amare than Vince.
    Amare>Vince

Amare has been pulled off the market because of the coaching change, unless they get an offer their blown away with. Chances for us were slim to begin with I think.

What other team will take Vince's contract of their hands before 2010?

I reckon Morey has enough leverage to do a Carter + Swift + 2009 1st pick (protected) for McGrady + Head.

Thanks for the info and he's right on the money. VC and T-mac together is not good so let's just keep Artest. SG and SF are not the weak spots anyway, it's the heigth and lack of athleticism at PF + true passing PG.

There's plenty of teams interested in Vince. Hell, I read a report yesterday that said up to 10 teams were in the running. Do we really have the best offer?

No chance in hell they give up both Artest and Battier.

Why would the Nets give up Brook Lopez?

The dude is pretty beastly with Harris running the point.

Harris and Lopez duo is a poor man's Paul/Chandler duo.

Question is do we really want Swift back???

    I say NO.

Maybe for the 1st round pick I would but up with it. When does his contract end anyway? Soon?

My best offer would be T-Mac and Landry for Carter, Hassell and Najera. Anything beyond that, I say no.

it doesn't take you out of play that offseason, the scenerio i just posed is a perfect example..mia can offer the most for wade thus a sign and trade can happen where we can get rid of players (carter) for wade....

plus the rockets want to sell season tickets, they will not go into 2009-2010 with just yao as their only superstar, pending mcgrady is truly done

He's expiring so it's not a big deal. Sure, the bitterness would still be there but his inclusion would obviously be based on financial reasons. Hell, cut his ass if you can't get over the egg he laid in his first stint as a Rocket!

IMO that's possibly the Nets trying to ramp up Carter's trade value.
