True. I'm just tired of every year having an injured superstar on our team at some point of the season. VC has had good health, if it's true that he's missed only 11 games the last few years. It would definitely be a change to the norm of expecting our superstars to miss many games. I would take on Najera's contract for VC, it's long but cheap. The nets would prolly want more than just T-Mac tho.
Why not get Martin then? Dude scores 10.1 fts a game. He makes just as much as Maggette, but is not a blackhole and is a legit SG to boot.
why not get Dwayne Wade then??? martin is pretty much untouchable in case you haven't noticed, unless of course we get them Ricky Rubi
people always think VC is just a super dunker. but is he a super star? can he hit a clutch shot down the stretch?
Gotta say yeah. Though Vince and Ron are both at 15 fga, itll be tough to share especially with Scola proving he deserves more looks, and Yao's averages already being down from previous seasons. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fRoi6x_wEmE&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fRoi6x_wEmE&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9YCPQKLEqdk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9YCPQKLEqdk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Aside from his expiring contract, why would the Nets want Tmac. He plays like Vince but is pretty much a gamble due to health reasons. Any team inquiring about Vince would have to throw in an important piece of that team. On the Rockets position, a Landry or Battier might have to be included. If so, I would rather keep the pieces and wait for the trade deadline where teams seem to be more open in giving without taking much back in return.
No to Vince Carter he has been known to quit like TMac. I rather have the team go after somebody else. Morey will get something done before start of the season.
That might be reason enough. Vince is not my first choice, but he is a realistic choice. I'm not sure if a straight up trade works, though. I suspect that another player would have to be packaged with Carter.
I especially like this one <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2Opom6wgy5I&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2Opom6wgy5I&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I'd rather look other places first, but if nothing else is available, I'd take Carter for Tracy. I'd take a sack of potatoes for Tracy.
Yes, for teams nearing the trade deadline but during the off season, I cant imagine the Nets needing an injured Tmac.
NJ should consider Tracy for Carter. Carter is not getting any younger and the more they wait the older he gets and his value will go down. Carter's trade value is the highest before the season starts.
Seriously, get out of here. The Cavs have reportedly offered Ben Wallace and Pavlovic straight up for Carter. Last year at the trade deadline the Nets had a deal to trade Vince to the Blazers for Raef LaFrentz. Obviously you do not follow NBA news closely enough to conclude that the Nets' primary objective is to get expiring contracts for Vince. http://dimemag.com/2009/02/vince-carter-to-portland-for-raef-lafrentz/ http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/article/2009-02-18/blazers-rockets-join-vince-carter-trade-talks
Honestly, Vince Carter is not all that. At least not enough that I'd want to see us pay him 33 million over the course of two years. Although if you could get him for McGrady straight up and I knew McGrady wouldn't be ready before the start of the season, McGrady would not accept coming off the bench and we don't get Artest back, then yeah I'd take that deal. Although I would turn it down flat if we had to throw anybody else in for it to work.
