I'm sure everyone in clutchcity (BBS forum) appreciate all the info. Eddie Griffin is really ripping it out! EG was an all around player type of guy, the guy was just simply awesome!!! What are we intended to do with Collier and Morris!!Let me guess, future bench warmers when the season begins.
Collier tied for the game high in rebounds with 9. I think you could do worse than Collier in terms of a 3rd string center (who, considering we'll play EG/MoT some at center, may not even get 3rd string center minutes. Collier will play when things go terribly wrong, or are unbelievably right. It seems he's working up some sort of endurance-played 36 mins, which is a good sign. I wonder why T-Mo isn't getting many minutes? He's starting, but only played 19 mins. Ishmail Ahmed got more minutes. Looking at the box, the thing that excites me most is his FG%. He was under 40% for the season, but has been shooting very productively- 12-16 this game, 9-14 last game. He also got to the line 7 times this past game, whereas usually when one is camped on the 3 point line, you can't get to the line. Griffin averages through 2 games: 27.5 ppg, 12.5 rpg (1.5 off. rpg), 0.5 apg, 2 bpg, 70% FG%, 75% 3P%, 63.6% FT%, 1.5 turnovers, 35.5 MPG ....very nice. Keep in mind his first 2 games were against PFs that were top 10 picks this past year.
The notion that a player slated as a power forward would be competitive for his spot on the roster is counterintuitive. I'm shocked that Eddie has worked out. I totally believe Rocket!!!.
I love your recaps...keep it up Damn Eddie and Tierre are looking GOOD Eddie: 32 (12-16) 9 rebs 2 blks Tierre:23(9-15) 7 assists 5 rebs
LA's post is to long and is killing bandwidth, this thread needs to be closed. J/K! GREAT post, is nice having Rockets fans all over the planet who cna keep us up-to-date on these guys. It sounds like Griffin is maturing into that franchise player he was projected to be. Obviously it's Summer Leagues, but the fact that he's there tells me he really wants to learn. And unlikes some young players he realized his problems and worked on them, and knew he needed to bulk up and did so accordingly. Should be a great year!
Don't worry about the length, LA's #1 Rocket Fan. Stats are always nice, but extensive recaps give us a true feeling about how the players are doing. Anyway, good to see Oscar Torres is doing better. But Ismail Ahmed outplayed him this game, and it looks like they are both going for the second string shooting guard job.
Yea Great Post! Like seriously being there! Does anyone know what Eddie's stats were last summer? Be nice to compare his numbers from last summer to what he's doing right now.
Somebody was arguing me down about Taylor's weight. When he was he was with the clipps he was about 235lbs and by his 3rd and finla season he was 245lbs, but when he was signed by the Rockets, he was 260lbs ,slow and out of shape. He was in foul trouble because the othe players were quicker than him night in and night out. I just think he will always be a career tease. Its good to see Griffin and Brown playing good even though its summer league.
nice post! It feels like those days listening to the radio heading to work trying to get every detail. Glad to hear that Eddie's doing well.. and Morris being agressive even though he missed a few shots. Personally, if Collier is going to be in our roster, he needs to be able to make better decisions offensively and defensively, he has the size, just needs to use it. I liked Tierre Brown and Tito for their explosiveness, although I also wished to have seen Nachbar in the league to see how he does.
I printed all of last years Rocky Mountain Revue box scores off proexposure.com, but I can't find them now. Overall he averaged 15 points, 8 boards if I remember correctly. j
Most players aren't physically mature when they come into the league. While Taylor was 6-9 235 as a rookie, for him, that may not have been filled out yet. Karl Malone was 245 as a rookie and look at him now. j
Once again LA #1 you've done an excellent job. I appreciate all your time and effort....makes the summer seem a bit shorter.
I know I'm coming in a little late but LA's #1 that was great again. Your'e doing a great job of letting all os Rocks fans know how everyone id doing. Your descriptions of how EG is playing post D is really good. I'm glad to see Eeddie's post D is so good for a second year player. His game is evolving and just think, he's only 20! It also good to see that Tito calmed down and played his type of game. Your thoughts on Tierre are dead on in my opinion. He's quick but he is a shoot first guy. I remember last season when I watched him play and wondered why he shot so much for a back up PG. He looks to shoot more than Moochie! Tierre's and Tito's games are so different but you do a good job of showing how each of them has run the offense during Summer League so we can compare & contrast. Thanks for all the great info and keep up the good work!
