As opposed to what? CBS and Dan Rather? The NYT and Walter Duranty/Jayson Blair/Judith Miller? The WaPo and Janet Cooke? USA Today and Mike Kelley? CNN and Eason Jordan? NBC and Dateline? The Boston Globe and Mike Barnicle? Get your liberal media sources to clean up their house, then you can be taken seriously when you rip the Washington Times.
Steyn, like many war supporters, attack the people rather than their arguments. They also make charges such as this where he claims that people want everything to hinge on one jailhouse. Of course like others they show absolutely zero evidence that anybody wants those outcomes. Reporting the events, and discussing the events is a far different thing than wanting everything to hinge on those events. Also we see Steyn calling those that discuss such issues 'elites' in a negative connotation as if all the common folk, salt of the earth people, are behind this war. Of course we know that the majority of the nation do not support this war. In addition he claims that reporting the misdeeds of others dishonors those that memorial day is supposed to honor. That is a clear case of attacking the messenger. Those that dishonor the people we are supposed to be remembering are those in the military that commit the war crimes, and torture people. Those that report it or discuss it aren't the ones doing the dishonoring. In this one paragraph Steyn makes many of the errors and inaccurate attacks that hamper debate of the issue.
Well, let's at least acknowledge that gwayneco is keen enough to pick on Judy. This is something you'd never expect from basso.
No he's not. He's just throwing out names he's heard. His understanding of every issue he addresses is paper thin.
That is debatable. Her inaccuracies resulted from her basing stories favorable to the whitehouse and W Bush on evidence that was flimsy. Her stories were anything but liberal, and supported the Bush administration and its WMD fiasco. The reason why the names you mentioned are worth mentioning is because they are the exception to the rule at those news services. That isn't so much the case with services such as the Washington Times, and others.
Get a life, and let us know when you do, mmmkay? Re-read your post above that I quoted. Have you been taking amphetamines? The ridiculous wind-blown assumptions you make in your responses directly correlate to the fact that the number of people on this BBS that take you seriously can be counted with less than one hand. If this is your intent, then congratulations....you've achieved it.
Exception to the rule? Miller and Blair were just following the great NYT tradition established by Walter Duranty's reporting on Stalin's USSR.
It might be worth pointing out that virtually everything on Faux News is inaccurate, as evidenced by O'Lielly's vitriolic string of falsehoods.
