When we were allowed in today, they were at the tail end of a scrimmage. This is video of that (again, bad camera work. You know the drill). Jordan Hill went down with an ankle injury (you see it here) but should be fine. Some good and bad from Hasheem Thabeet. Marqus Blakely had a nice shot before a shot clock expiration and a nice drive.

Here is Marcus Morris in shooting drills. He was very sharp when he was going "Around The World" from the 17-feet out spot. You see that here. When he went from distance, he struggled badly. He had some moments, but a lot of misses. Likely rust (they weren't badly off), or not quite ready for the NBA three. We'll see.

This is Kevin McHale on Marcus Morris' first NBA practice and his vision on how he'll use him.

And here is Marcus Morris himself speaking after practice. Very mellow, soft spoken ... got to talk to him after this and he's a pretty cool guy. Asked him about T-Will calling him "Twin" and he said that was a new one... a few guys in the practice did call him by his nickname ("Mook"), which is a name his grandmother had given him.

This video just makes me wonder why Morey hasn't used the amnesty on Thebeet already.

morris shot reminds me of paul pierces shot....not saying he is as good or anything, just his form....

if he gets the ball from that spot he will be money.

Thanks a million Clutch. The scrimmage vid is awesome. I could watch that all day.

(Hasheem has this ability to always look out of shape, even If he is completely ripped with 3.5% body fat...)

Seriously. I can't believe you can get away with playing so lazy in an NBA practice.

In a contract year too, in day 3 of freaking practice...

^Well there isnt that much 7foot bodies out there in the real world. To say the least, at least they need a 7 foot body to play in the scrimmages and training camp.

In his defense, it's the end of practice so he's probably wiped.

That being said, he definitely looked lackadaisical. The body language after he flubbed the pass is not something you should display in the middle of a potential fast break.

If they amnesty him, Les still has to pay that $5M+ contract, but then they can't use his contract as trade filler. They also don't have a center and he's one.

    Thanks Clutch!

We really need to patient with this group. A bunch of young guys - it's going to take some time but there is huge potential.

Btw, where was Scola during the scrimmage?

Darko is more useful than Thabz at this point.

Gracias for the clips, mister Clutch.

Marcus's shot looks clean but he gets no lift, I'm excited to see what he can do though. Stating the obvious but....we need some size BAD!

agreed knote32, I could watch the scrimmage all day as well.

I'd consider going to the Toyota Center just try to watch them practice by peeping into the gym from the obstructed stickered window view they have of the practice court on LaBranch. lol I know it hasn't been as easy to get excited about the team this year, but these videos are really getting me excited and pumped.

Thank you so much for the videos Clutch. If you ever need a video/equipment girl, you know who to contact.;)

    btw my post #1000. *confetti*

i posted this as a youtube comment, but after watching the scrimmage, sigh. really wishing we had a superstar...is it me or is it awkward watching these videos because of the vetoed trade. losing martin and scola in the future. very hard to watch these practices when the dynamic of this team with a new coach is close to 0. there seems to be no chemistry. no leadership. hopefully we'll wait and see. GO TEXANS!!

As a die-hard Rockets fan, there is always a glimmer of hope and anticipation in a new season. However, I got headaches just thinking that either Hill or Thabeet could start at the center position.
