Great find on those Vernon Maxwell buzzer beaters. I could care less about his off the court problems. None of the nice guys on this team have done half as much as what Vernon Maxwell did for the Rockets. I loved watching him as a kid.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/22/sports/basketball/22knicks.html

They lost last night on a 7-foot runner at the final buzzer by Houston's Scott Padgett. But it was one in a series of games that was lost in the final seconds because of embarrassing miscues.

This time, the Knicks committed a shot-clock violation on their final possession.

Great find again. I remember that game. I also remember if Maxwell didn't hit that big shot at the end helping the Rockets win the series, there was a good chance that that team would've gotten broken up if they lost to the Clips, which would've meant no championship the next year and the year after that. Thanks for posting it.

I don't have the time or patience to sit here and find this video (I've invested about a good 10 minutes in trying to find it, but failed):

    2004 Playoffs vs. Lakers -
Stevie Franchise putback dunk right before half-time... SWEET!

I did find these two circus shot lay-ups he did to ice one of the games though...

Dammit I love this team. Time to pull out the old Maxwell jersey and sport it, then my Francis one. Then Cassell. Then Mac. Just a few more and I can have one every day of the week! Heck, where's my Warren Moon jersey?! :p

Yep, and too bad we didn't have a better PG cause we would have won that series and played Chicago and beat them. That would have quiet all the people who say we won our championships because MJ was retired.

My first game that I ever went to was that Vernon Maxwell buzzer beater against the Warriors. It was in 94 I think. He tried saving the ball from going out of bounds around half court. He tried tossing it towards Hakeem but the ball went in the basket. There was less than a second left to go and we won because of it...
    ok..maybe it wasn't a buzzer beater.

I was sitting w/ my back against the wall of the Summit. the very last row.
    amazing.

There was a game versus Denver at Denver when we had Clyde Drexler.

We were tied, and Drexler nailed one from between half court and the 3pt line on the wing. I've tried months looking for that video but to no avail.

I remember it vividly though. It's not my favorite buzzer beater, but it's one of my most wanted.

I can't wait for the season to start. Let's hurry up and re-sign Landry, sign Barry, sign Horry, and trade for Artest or our legit point guard.

I remember that one too. It was a pretty high-scoring game (maybe into the 140s?) and Calvin Murphy was screaming "There it is! There is is!" as soon as Drexler launched it.

Damn I wish Murphy could come back and do the Rockets games like he used to do. Maybe this year the organization can do the right thing and bring him back.

Damn Mad Max was something else !! he was so hard nosed and didn't take any s..t from anyone !! Its hard to beat T-Macs 13 points in 30 secs because it was against the Spurs but Sampson beating the Lakers with 2 secs to take the Rockets to their 1st Championship ? man hard decision but at least I can say I was watching all those games :)

I think one of the most sensational buzzer beater was probably an NBA record is the 35 sec 13 pts play by TMac where wer won by 81-80 with a buzzer beater
at 1.7 sec left to play (and of course the 4 pts play earlier).

There is a favorite buzzer beater for the Rockets every year.

2008 goes to Steve Novak, assist T-Mc
2006 goes to T-Mc, the Spurs spurt.
