ITs a combination of many things....but mostly it is the worse than normal KNWS signal.

Even heavily filtered ( as this one is)...the diagonal lines cannot be stripped out unless I smooth the hell out of it...(which leads to the semi-watercolor look you noticed) The other thing is..when the quality is this bad..you must watch it at the default resolution..if you try to maximize it or even zoom it to 200%...it will just look plain nasty.

I do feel bad it had to happen this way when the demand was so high....alot of folks without the tech support of the capper may think that this crappy quality is jut how I do it.

Part of the reason why i was hoping the card we chipped in for you would help. if you are able to use a hd antenna to pick up the dtv signal of ch 51 via an antenna rather than the reg broadcast via sat/cable or antenna. even if 51 doesnt have hd, it should have a dtv signal that should be 10x better than the regular broadcast. out here in la, kcal the station that shows lakers games do not broadcast anything in hd but the dtv of kcal is a huge improvement over the reg broadcast. if you havent played around with that i would suggest trying. if i remember right you use your linux box to cap, if driver support isnt there yet for linux just try plugging into a win xp box and see if it helps any with the knws feeds.

its called good business. if you had a product that cost .01 to make and could sell it to thousands of people for 100 dollars, wouldnt you? i dont know any rational person who wouldnt. i am happy that it is only 180 dollars considering how much they could charge for it. if i wanted to go to a houston game (i live in la) it would cost me at least 180 for the plane tickets, and thats not counting food, lodgings, misc $ and the costs of the ticket(s) themselves. and thats just for one game. certainly if you live in houston and get all the rocket games and you would occasionaly like to see a game that isnt rockets or on national tv i can see how you would consider LP to be a ripoff, but for people like me who live out of town its a steal of a deal to be able to watch all the rockets games for about 2.20 per game.

The KNWS HD antennae pool is in Missouri City(or thereabouts) which is on the far other side of the Houston Metro area from where Im at. The only way Im gonna pick that up is with a roof mounted HD antenna(which I dont have)

it isnt available from TWC.

I have still to this day been unable to find a program to use with it that will let me capture to mpeg2...it insists on recording to avi..which in my expericne is more trouble than its worth...Ive always had a/v sync problems with avi captures...Ive actually been using XP all along since the ATI MMC has always been fairly reliable,

but it doesnt support the HD cap card...nor have several other third party cap progs I have found so far.

We are just gonna have to face it for now....HD capturing isnt gonna happen until the ROckets start showing stuff on HD channels that are provided thru the cable company...I just live too far out in the sticks from downtown Houston to reliably get OTA HD channels. without a special roof mount HD antenna.

IM running some tests on VirtuaDub and Xvid right now...when gordian knot updated...somehow a conflict arose and it started acting up...I think I may have worked that problem out...the test running now should prove it if Im lucky.

I suspect that may have made an already horrible signal even worse.

come on guys, you need to leave the torrent open and seed when you're done with the download for as long as you can. I'm the only seeder right now. I can't keep this up forever!

what are you seeding?

I just checked the tracker info page, and am showing:
vs Hawks full - 193 seeders / 620 peers
vs Hawks highlgihts - 42/36
vs Grizz full - 7/8
vs Grizz highlights - 3/0

the older files (94 Finals) do only have 1 or 2 seeds..
except for Game 7 which has 8/14

It helps to be more specific about which file when requesting seeds.
