One stands above the rest for me. Starcraft... such a balanced game... even now I still go on when I am bored and play... amazing even now there is plenty of people playing it online. anyone want to battle? There has been heaps of games I have loved... Golden Eye was great in its day, there theres games that are great to play with friends like mario kart.
Some not mentioned I think. Doom 2 Quake Unreal Tournament Warcraft 3 Defense of the Ancients on Warcraft 3. Probably my favorite game of all time. Game is almost never the same since the map is constantly updated every few months. Super Mario Galaxy Not really a video game but Solitaire. Easy way to kill hours and if you're going hardcore, playing Freecell. Nights Into Dreams Half Life Half Life 2 including all the episodes Portal TF2 Left 4 Dead. Lately anything Valve works on turns into gold.
U.N. Squadron (snes) - awesome shoot'em'up game with tons of replay value Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64) - the pinnacle of game design interwoven with story telling Virtua Tennis (dreamcast) - tennis was never so much fun Baseball Stars (nes) - probably my favorite baseball game of all time Counterstrike (PC) - there's a reason people still play this Super Smash Bros (N64) - an awesome fighter concept, great party game Punch out (nes) - the story was super linear and the gameplay was way repetitive, but it was amazingly replayable and also the first (popular) game i think to introduce the concept of a celebrity promoting a game Guardian Heroes (Saturn) - action/adventure beat em up with incredibly deep play mechanics and an awesome story... super replayable Secret of Mana (snes) - turned the RPG on its head by breaking from so many design rules NBA2K (dreamcast) - I'll never forget my jaw hitting the floor when I saw this demo'd in a game store... such realistic gameplay and player models NHL 94 (snes) - all hockey games now translates great into video games because of this one Soul Calibur (dreamcast) - visually stunning to this day, one of my favorite fighters Madden 2004 (multi) - first in the series to have franchise ownership, ground breaking features in football simulation Tony Hawk Pro Skater (playstation) - this franchise literally lifted an industry from obscurity to the cultural forefront Goldeneye 007 (n64) - we are lucky that the first action/FPS game for home consoles was so awesome... the forerunner to halo Halo (xbox) - when you cause kids to bring extra 20" tvs to each others house, and extra xboxes, with extra conrtollers, and extra cables... and a router... all so you and 16 friends could play this in the same room, obviously you created a good game Call of Duty 4 (PC) - the pinnacle of the shooter (currently) Left 4 Dead (PC) - the only game i've ever played that scared the ***** out of me and made me cackle madly with laughter at the same time Super Mario Kart (SNES) - another great concept that nintendo pulled off brilliantly Starcraft (PC) - the perfect RTS. perfect. Diablo 2 (PC) - while not perfect, you know it laid the groundwork for... World of Warcraft (PC) - Considering the number of subscribers and the amount of time it has spent at #1 in its genre... this is obviously the most financially successful game of all time.
I liked these games but I loved guardian heroes. I too love replay value so the multiplayer with friends and family was great.
Ohhhhh... good one! Dear old Saturn. Panzer Dragoon was awesome, too. I've actually playing Panzer Dragoon Orta lately. I love Virtua Tennis 3. Top Spin is fun too, with its sim style... but there's something about the simplicity of Virtua Tennis that makes it slightly more appealing to me.
8 Pages and not one person posted NBA JAM on sega genesis. I saw this game lying in my garage, I hadn't seen this game in probably like 7 years and thought starting a new season with Hakeem and Mad Max would be awesome.
THIS. Along with part I, my favorite RPG series of all time. My favorite series however is definitely the Metal Gear Solid games. MGS 1 was in a class of its own. The setting, the characters, & the plot all are perfect to me. At that time, I didn't think I could enjoy a video game more. I played MGS 2 when it came out, and I enjoyed it to a degree, but not nearly as much as 1. However, I played it last year, and I found myself appreciating it a lot more than I did the original time I played through the game. It was interesting to see Snake from the third person. Then MGS 3 came out, and I loved it. Playing as Spoiler Big Boss[/SPOLIER] throughout the duration of the game was awesome. The bosses weren't up to par in terms of match it up with MGS 1, but I found myself enjoying the main characters more. The final battle with Spoiler The Boss[/SPOLIER] in the field of flowers was amazing. As for MGS 4, I'm in that group of purchasing a PS3 for the sole reason of playing it. IMO, the game lived up to the hype. Although I wasn't too keen on the boss characters themselves, the battles were very good. I especially liked the battles with Laughing Octopus & Crying Wolf. I liked the addition of cutting the story into Acts, as I felt that allowed Kojima to give big endings to each to leave the player speechless. The hour long ending gave great conclusion to the series (at least with Solid Snake), and I was surprised to see what occurs in the epilogue. Well that's enough of my MGS rant. Hopefully someone who hasn't experienced the series yet reads this, and it makes them want to go out and play the **** out of these four games.
Ahh geez, I wrote the spoiler tag once and then I copied it in case I'd paste it again. My bad, fellas.
Ocarina of Time MGS2 COD4 Super smash bros melee Mario 64 Mario bros 3 Super mario World Donkey Kong Country Metroid Prime Gran Turismo 3 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 Mario Kart (Super Nintendo) Wii Fit FF7 KOTOR II Mass Effect
Mega Man 2 in particular is an all time great. Many think Mega Man 3 is the best, but I'll stick with 2.

Also forgot 2 more of my faves: Super Metroid (SNES) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) All of the similar sequels are great too.
Several in the following series : Bard's Tale (only because it's the first RPG I ever played) Ultima IV-VII Baldur's Gate I & II (possibly the best RPG's ever) Diablo II (braindead simple to play, but just a clickfest of fun) Civilzation IV Warcraft I & II (you mean I can play army men with orcs? woo hoo!) Total Annihilation (tank rush to the extreme) World of Warcraft (brought me into actually paying a monthly fee for a game which I thought was dumb) Elder Scrolls III & IV (Morrowind & Oblivion) I'm sure I'm missing a game I liked somewhere in there...
Really? #2, but not any of the others? I'm actually not that big a fan of MGS in general, so it's not like I'm disagreeing with you. It's just curious to me, because dang near everyone else I've ever run into liked either 1 or 3 the best. They usually call out #2 as the "disappointing" one.
Really? Y ou would consider KOTOR II and not KOTOR 1? The second one was not even half as good as the first one.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms I (even after 10 sequels, nothing beats the original on PC) Ultima V (revolutionary for RPGs in its days) Madden Madden 2002 MVP Baseball 2005 Phantasy Star II & IV Sam & Max: Hit the Road Monkey Island I & II Master of Orion I & II Sins of a Solar Empire
You know, I bought this a while back, but never got a chance to play it. It's gotten some good reviews. I should try playing it before it ends up being like Planescape Torment - a supposedly good game I bought, but lost in a move and never played. And your list just reminded me a few more of my favorites : Master of Orion I & II (can't believe I forgot this) Galactic Civilization I & II (and all the add ons/expansions) Stars!
