Shooters 007 Golden Eye (Mecca of 1st person shooters) Bioshock Doom series RPG Chrono Trigger Super Mario RPG Earthbound Fighting Marvel vs Capcom 2 Smash Brothers Brawl Power Stone Racing Mario Kart (one and only racing game)
For a single game, I might concur with you. But I actually think that, taken as a single continuous plot, Xenosaga has the most engaging story I've ever seen in a game... even though none of the the three games nearly lived up to Xenogears by themselves (and I always cite Xenosaga 2 as having the worst combat system in the history of RPGs).
I can only imagine how much more amazing it would have been if the 2nd disc wasn't rushed. Xenogears is one game I would've been happy to play through even if the main quest was 80 hours long. I NEED this game to come out on the PSN.
I remember thinking that I might have slightly exaggerated the story of Xenogears, maybe due to nostalgia. Then I read the English translation of Perfect Works, and that quickly went out the door. A lot of work went into that game's story. Apparently Planescape Torment is another great story RPG (huge script IIRC). I actually owned it, but didn't get very far (think I was busy with school or something). Let my sister borrow it IIRC...and I've never seen it since. Would love to see it on GOG or something.
You are in luck, my friend. From what I have heard, it sounds like Planescape: Torment is going to be re-released on DVD compatible with XP/Vista. I can't believe you read through the Xenogears Perfect Works. I remember I just about crapped myself when I randomly learned it had just been finished being translated. It was by sheer luck that I stumbled upon it, and you can imagine my shock that it was finally fully-translated despite the fact that the game was released like 10 years ago. I've been holding off delving into it in hopes that Xenogears will be released on PSN. I'm thinking of just picking an arbitrary date and if the game isn't released by then, I'll just buy a used copy on ebay.
I only say this cause I've been playing Mario Kart since I was real little. And I can honestly say that I can play ever game Mario Kart still to this day. Franchise wise Mario Kart has put out supreme titles while Gran Turismo only really got good with the 3rd one. The first two were awful.
Not sure why you don't just pick it up now if you want it that bad. Are you hoping for upgrades to the game or something?
You're not alone in the MK boat. I find it a lot more fun than any other racing game out there, esp sims. You should try Crash Team Racing if you can stand the out-dated graphics.
KartRider better than Mario Kart <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kSA37ij-CEY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kSA37ij-CEY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1uhPeJ4osYw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1uhPeJ4osYw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5sbIDJ5fM3s&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5sbIDJ5fM3s&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Actually I was thinking about Crash Team Racing too. It was pretty fun as a kid but I doubt I could go from playing games on HD TV and then playing the earlier 3D games as it becomes an eye soar. Tried to play Golden Eye a while back and was like WTF!!! Why did I think this was the greatest game when everybody is blocky and looks like they have foam hands. Still loved being Oddjob
How is better? Videos really didn't show anything. And it's only in Korea makes me have the urgency to call you a liar
Because my frugal side says I should hold out and see if it will be released on PSN for much less than I could find it on ebay, especially considering I have plenty of games that can occupy me while I wait. If I could get it for $10 on PSN, I would probably finish up whatever game I was currently playing and delve right into Xenogears, but it is tough for me to justify going out and spending $40 on a used copy of a game I have already played, when there exists a chance it may be sold for less in the near future, while I have enough of a backlog to occupy me, and while I don't have a job. Convoluted explanation, I know. But it basically boils down to me wanting to secure a good condition copy of the game before it becomes more rare, but also currently remaining optimistic that it will be released on PSN.
This could have been a great one... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/caIBKOztlAo&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/caIBKOztlAo&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Didn't know that, although I did see that Amazon UK has some sort of preorder page for it. Not on the Amazon US yet though AFAIK. Really hope this is true.
