Yes, as some kind folks earlier in the thread informed me: http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/adventure/legendofzeldaoot/ I'm still unclear as to whether this Gamecube edition of the game was ever actually released on its' own, or only as an add-in with Wind Waker. I ended up ordering the Wind Waker/OoT Gamecube package for $75 off some Amazon seller... the guy only had 2 feedback too, so hopefully it gets here. Copies are hard to come by it seems. EDIT: D'oh! I think I just self-owned. It's cool that I ordered the "Master Quest" version of OoT on Gamecube, but I apparently I could've bought "Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition" for Gamecube for much cheaper (includes OoT & Majora's Mask as well). Ah well. If I like OoT enough I'll probably pick up the aforementioned Zelda: Collector's Edition so I can play Majora's Mask.
Has Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina, and Majora's Mask on it. Another disk with Ocarina and Ocarina: Master Quest on it. I have both of them, don't remember how I got them. Probably a Wind Waker preorder.
I guess the story on Master Quest was that it was for Wind Waker pre-orders, and the story with the other one is that it was packaged as part of a Gamecube bundle to try to help Nintendo move systems (much like Wii Sports for Wii, or the MGS4 PS3 package).
Top ten is tough because of the number of genres and stuff for me but here goes some that come to mind instantly but in no particular order... 1.) Starcraft...as others have said, perfect. 2.) Fallout 1,2,3 (pretty much the best RPG of all time in my opinion - never played Chrono Trigger) 3.) Metal Gear Solid Series - Haven't played 4 but love the series.. what a great story Hideo tells. 4.) Smash Brothers/Mario Kart 5) Megaman 2 and 3 6.) Super Mario Brothers 7.) Devil May Cry 1 8.) Onimusha 3 9.) Halo Series 10.) Sonic/Donkey Kong/Pacman Honorable Mentions (just to name a few): Warcraft 2, Pac Man, Duck Duck Goose, GoldenEye, Starfox, etc.
The one for the Master Quest was for the Wind Waker preorder. That was successful so they did the other disc for Mario Kart: Double Dash preorders. Honestly though, it's a sacred cow that hasn't aged well. Yes it was great for it's time, but you could play Twighlight Princess and end up playing the same game but updated. And you already played a superior zelda type game in Okami. I really wouldn't suggest for you to set your expectations as high as the praise or you're bound to be dissappointed.
I just started playing FF IX, and it has been a lot more enjoyable than I was expecting. It appears to be made from the same engine that created Super Mario RPG, which is how I got into RPG games, in the first place. Of course, that was about a decade ago. It seems it takes me about a year to play each of those games, with FF XIII being the worst, simply because it is impossible to finish without picking up secret items pretty damn early in the game. I wasn't about to start all over again, and by the way I saved my game, I would've had to.
Seriously. The music is amazing and very emotional if you've played through the game. I'd have to say the same about Metroid Prime, Halo, and MGS3 as well though. All those games have an amazing soundtrack as well. Some really memorable themes from each: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hrVoQSdw8Zs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hrVoQSdw8Zs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XUF17cd8mKk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XUF17cd8mKk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rNVCD1dsnJI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rNVCD1dsnJI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Definitely play Ocarina of Time and not the master quest when playing it on the Gamecube. Also, wait until Metroid Prime (original one) comes out on the Wii with motion controls. The original is infinitely better than part 2 and considerably better than part 3. The other 2 couldn't match the excellence of the 1st one.
I forgot to mention Saint's Row in my first post. A GTA clone that I thought was actually better than any of the GTA games.
You should check out Saints row 2. They improved the first one in every way possible. IMO Saints Row 2 is better than Grand Theft Auto IV
If the GARM had its own music theme, this would be it: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/d9x1hRBFi54&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/d9x1hRBFi54&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Victoria Hearts of Iron Europa Universalis You know where I'm getting at http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/ I can understand selecting games like street fighters as they legendary even though I don't play it much. But selections like starcraft is just braindead for me.
That GC disc has two versions of the game. The original "Ocarina of Time," and the "Master Quest" version. Both are the same game, but the "Master Quest" has just placed some items in different places for the players who have played through OoT and want to play it again with it being slightly different. Go with the original.
In no particular order, I still enjoy playing these games: - Tomb Raider (the Anniversary version has better graphics than the first, and very similar gameplay, so I guess that one) - Tony Hawk's Underground (improved on Pro Skater 3, which was an awesome game, with a plot thrown in about you being an unknown trying to make it big) - Civilization 4 (this game never really gets old) - Final Fantasy 7 (my wife even expressed interest in playing this again recently... she had played it before we met) - Halo 2 (the only first person shooter I've ever truly gotten into, the multi-player mode is extremely well designed)
1. ZTetris 86 (TI-86 calculator) 2 through whatever: The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (SNES) The Splinter Cell series (can't believe this wasn't mentioned) Halo (two-player, Prisoner with rockets, no invisibility, first to 25, or Damnation, invisibility, first to 10) GTAIV (The only game since I became a man that I played everyday after work for at least two hours) COD4 Krusty's Super Fun House Minesweeper Zelda: A Link to the Past NHL2K (Sabres = unbeatable)
Umm I think we've kind of touched on everything that should be in the running. What do you have in mind?
