You're comparing a legendary arcade box to a 360 game?

Do you actually have a 360 shrine at home or something? Does the 360 sit on a throne and order you to go spread the good word out on "teh internets?"

Somehow it's okay to you that Microsoft makes a game that it later renders unplayable with a mandatory software upgrade. Why is it I see you jumping down Sony's throat if they did the same thing?

I wanted to play it again before I started Gears 2.

Ask any video rental place... rentals of a given movie will always spike if the sequel is about to come out. Not a new concept.

Quite apart from that, there's no reason I should need to justify re-playing a great game. Do you just go through every game you buy, play it once, and sell it back immediately? I'd call that not getting your money's worth.

You're the one talking about playing Pac-Man, for crying out loud... hypocrisy, thy name is SamFisher...

No, I play them and beat them, then I use the discs as coasters, though occasionally I snort coke off of them, cutting it into lines with $100.00 gamestop gift cards and using the receipts rolled up into tubes.

And then you have sex with your 360!

There's so much that makes sense now...

What's different about this 2.0 patch?

No idea, only that it was required to sign in with a LIVE profile at all.

Here's the link to the manual download (if you don't let it just do it automatically through the game): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...78-7a4e-4f89-a88c-319972839793&DisplayLang=en

I can't seem to find anything that actually says what's different about it... but then, I don't really care, other than the fact that it broke Gears of War for me.

What I mean is this patch didn't actually 'enable' achievements or anything like that? You were just relating it to achievements because of this patch, so I wondered if there was a connection.

EDIT: Also, really odd that you couldn't just sign in with your already existing Live ID, but just in case this helps in the future:

Linking Live ID with XBOX 360 Gamertag

You tend to analyze something and quickly make an assumption.

Anyways, Vista 64-bit edition sucks. It's incompatible with many programs and games. Vista 32-bit (student edition) is the way to go.

Well yeah, being signed into Live at all enables achievements and saved game progress, no matter the version. Obviously everyone needs to be running the same version of the software for everything to function correctly.

Ah, so it's just that the information between the 360 account and the hotmail account has to be identical.

See, I lived in different places when I signed up for both these things. I was expecting some kind of "link this to a previously created 360 account" button. That would be much more intuitive.
