I got this game for Christmas, and its just not my thang. It feels too repetitive. I just don't like the single player mode solo. There doesn't seem to be a story line to it. I played it once and put it back in the case and it hasn't seen the 360 since. I'm going to take it, and COD W@W and trade them in for something good. Any suggestions? I'm a FPS, action adventure, and sports player.
L4D isn't really a single player game. Try playing with friends or online and you wouldn't be saying the same thing.
This game is made to play with other people. This is the best online game there is imo. All the different movies have different things and there is a ton of strategy involved
I attempted No Mercy on Expert last night around 7pm with a friend of mine and 2 computer players. It took us a couple of hours, but we finally got to the rooftop finale where we were forced to enlist the help of a couple of our friends. After numerous tries, we beat the stage but the two people who had played from the beginning (myself included) did not survive. The whole reason to play it was to actually survive expert and get the achievement, so that sucked. Later last night I figured I'd give it another shot, but this time I'd go solo since nobody else was online. Well, I breezed through the first 3 stages of No Mercy, and sort of hit a bump in the road on the 4th, but managed it eventually. At the rooftop finale, after many many many failed attempts, I asked a friend to join me. I had a strategy that was guaranteed to work as long as I had just one other person to keep me from getting incapacitated on the way to the chopper. So, I go to invite my friend and guess what. It turns out I started a "Single Player" game rather than an online game! He couldn't join At that point I decided that I had come way too far to give up. I told myself I wouldn't go to sleep until it was completed. Well, that lasted until 7:15 this morning when I finally gave up. So in the end that's about 8 hours devoted to a solo rooftop finale on expert and I have nothing to show for it. This game makes me want to cry ... ...and kill someone
L4D sucks in single player. Online is where its at. The game is never the same twice... and they're releasing downloadable content in the next month.
What kind of stuff are they releasing? And I love that about the game, every time you play level, it is different
Love the game, can't believe people played this single player. LMAO. It's all about gaming online with other people, 4v4s.....4 people campaign. So much fun.
I nearly beat Death Toll on Expert today, just couldn't do it so I left to go see Slumdog Millionaire
Yeah, I kind of figured it was more of an online game after I played it. I really don't play much online. I'll just try something else. Its a cool game, just not the single player mode.
Playing L4D single player is like playing CounterStrike single player lol. Been thinking about picking up cod w@w....but wasn't all that impressed, felt just like cod4 (which isn't a bad thing)....but didn't feel like it was worth $50....felt like a mod.
It's ok. To me, the COD games are like Star Wars....I love all of them no matter how much they may suck... The addition of the "kamakaze soliders", bayonets and flame throwers make it interesting. That said...it doesn't come close to COD4. I think that the WWII genre may have played itself out.
Oh, I loved COD, I just ran through it on all difficulty levels so quick I was going to trade it in. It all worked out, I took L4D and traded it in on a 3 pack of kids games (Shrek The Third, Viva Pinata, and the first Sonic) for my daughter. I also got to keep COD. Shes definitely one happy kid and thats cool with me.
Finally beat No Mercy and Dead Air campaigns on expert. I feel vindicated for the travesty that was my initial attempt.
I keep getting ****ty teammates that either kill me at crucial time or don;t know what they are doing and stay too far behind. I can't stand it
From what I've experienced, I can fairly easily get through the first 3 stages of expert without another human player. The 4th stage (at least of No Mercy) is doable solo as long as you stay healthy enough to run quickly when a tank shows up and is occupied with the CPU's. So I might just suggest getting that far by yourself and then recruiting a decent player or two for the finale. Even if you don't beat it, it should save you the grief of drudging through alllll the stages. It doesn't hurt that 3 (maybe all?) of the finales have sweet spots that you can exploit to make it much easier.
^^^^^^ imo, there is not good spot in Dead Air. It is by far the hardest on expert imo. I played that one last week for quite a while and gave up.
We did that one last night, but had to use an exploit after nearly 2 hours of failed attempts. I'm not sure if you're aware of the turret glitch throughout the game, but you can basically melee it to "charge" it up, then jump on it and it will launch you. So what you have to do is use this turret jump glitch to get on top of the escape plane. Once you're up there, crouch in the middle and be ready to melee smoker tongues. Other than that, nothing will ever get to you and that includes tanks. Eventually the plane will open up and all you have to do is jump down and get in, but beware of a giant horde of zombies IN THE PLANE that have accumulated while you were hiding.
I meant to say Blood Harvest, not Dead Air, Dead Air is actually one of the easier ones although i havnt beaten it yet. We kept getting caught by a 3rd Tanker as we tried to enter the plane
