I am SOOOOOOO disappointed in this workout... Yao, at his size, should NEVER be working out with such light weight. If I did this weight I would LOSE muscle mass... THIS workout is the SINGLE reason why Yao gets pushed off the block so easy. He needs to be pushed and spotted in his weight lifting. This routine does nothing for his strength OR conditioning... he needs to be building muscle. Also, I hope he is loading up with calcium to aid in his bone regeneration. FIRE ANTHONY FALSONE!!!!1
Do you realize how much harder it is for him to lift because of his length? That's why it's very easy for dudes who are 5'3" to pump more weight. They don't have to push it very far at all.
Are you serious? Have you ever tried lifting heavy weights with cast on? It is not smart. You can really unbalance your back and any pressure on the foot could set him back months. Yao's problem is not strength, it's his high center of gravity. You really think he's actually weaker then the guys who guard him? Anytime some video comes out of athletes working out, some people got to get on and say how weak ass the athletes are compared to themselves. I guess everybody's a tough guy behind a keyboard. Yao Ming should fire Anthony Falsone and find some random jerk with a swoll torso and scrawny legs at 24 Hour Fitness instead.
I must have missed the thread where we signed Jelani McCoy. Can someone tell me when we did that? Is he any good or just another scrub?
You people who are talking about being disappointed that Yao isnt benching 500 or lifting 300 lb bells dont know anything about working out. If he benched like that he would bulk up, now do you want to put more bulk on your already massive, 300+ lb, slightly fragile frame?
Impressed at the difference in Yao's upper body size compared to when he arrived. His arms look a lot stronger.
Hopefully his right foot doesn't start to get injure also since he's been relying and putting lots of pressure on that foot for support for months now.
Why are people being such an idiot? Yao is suppose to lose some weight this year. Yao gets pushed off the block easily? You're thinking about fronting.
The chances of yao re-injuring that leg are high. even if he comes back, i doubt he'll be the same player. thts 3 fractures in 3 year.it's bound to take it's toll.
The way he looks in the video is actually misleading. He's usually not that "big", but since he hasn't been running much, mostly doing circuit training and shooting, then it's given his arms a chance to sort of bulk up. During the season most guys lean out because of all the running they do kills some of their muscle size. So expect yao to be leaner next year once he returns.
that's why they re-shaped the bone or joint, whatever it was, during this surgery....so that it would be shaped to take force more easily... and all 3 of the breaks/fractures weren't on the same leg, i believe two were on the left side, including this current one, and one on the right side, but the right side one was just a bad accident where he came down incorrectly when a player bumped into his leg.
That's a common misconception. Heavy weights with low reps and low body fat with have you ripped as well.
