those are light workouts, but that's good b/c it keeps him in shape. without lower body workouts, why do you want an overly strenuous workout with bigger weights? great to see yao doing his stuff.
it is good to see that yao is working out, i for one is glad that he is using light weights. All the best to the big fella and come back next year to dominate for us to actually win...rockets have paid their dues.
i dont think he's exaggerating, keep in mind he shortened the clip. We dont know how many reps he did or if any exercises were left out. Just from what i saw, its safe to say the average person who doesn't workout much would have trouble with it. Add what we didnt see, and i think his statement would make more sense then
i can't believe how many people are hating on his workouts, even after the video guy specifically pointed out this was a LIGHT workout. He's MONTHS away from practicing and playing ball. The objective until then it to keep him from becoming Oliver Miller, keep his body used to movements and full range of motion, and keeping his muscles as balanced as possible. Use some common sense and take into consideration what was edited out and the fact that not having full control of one of your lower legs makes it difficult to secure your lower body doing exercises.
I love seeing yao working it out, getting ready to dominate next season (hopefully late this season if we get a playoff seed.
yeah Yao needs to do more weights because the thing the Rockets really need is for Yao to injure a shoulder or tear a pectoral in addition having a bum foot Yao is not a 300 lb defensive lineman, he's not going to have to push dudes around with his upper body there's 0 reason for ANY trainer to jack Yao up on weights. for fighting in the paint lower body > all, and he's months away from working on that part of his body anyways if you want to measure how good of a workout Yao is doing, look not at a)weight but a)reps + b)circuit cycle of workout + c)weight. Yao looks like he's working hard, and high reps are appropriate for the kind of maintenance/ cardio that Yao needs right now what would be useful is if yao's trainer put him on some ropework and body weight/calisthenic exercises. yao needs hand strength and pulling his 300 lb body across a rope like in the army would develop that sort of functional strength.
what's a manikin? i'm pretty sure he's working on his muscle endurance in that workout. low weights, high reps. it's not all about how much weight you can put up. functional muscle > big muscles
i dont think that changes anything, the point is it was light for Yao and people are complaining about it like it's his normal routine..
Yeah.....plenty of options for him, and one of them is that he could just sit and relax at home and get obese.....and no one will complain about it. Luckily Anthony Falsone is his personal trainer and not you.
and only a dumb ass personal trainer would have a 300+ pound athlete with a surgically altered/repaired foot (which is still in a cast) do ANYTHING ON A BOSU. Please reveal your name so that I can make sure not to hire you. I'm sure Anthony Falsone has it under control. He has just a slight more experience than you.
and it is mannequin you idiot. jeez...you just gave the personal training industry even more credibility than it already has.
Nice to see Yao working out the correct way. Unlike the trainer TMac had allowing TMac to bounce the weights instead of controlling them.
"Hey look at me, I'm injured and I'm still working out. Give me the 100 million extension". Pathetic. I would expect more from Yao. All the workouts, and shooting from the chair. he can easily do it from his house. I would expect this from McGrady, but not Yao.
just pointing out what i thought was an error in your post anyway. yaos up there doing his thing like he always does. dorsey + others are there too. i thought it was funny that the video dude excessively slobbing yao's knob.
So you would make fun of a guy that you requested to film that is doing a workout while he only has one good leg? And how was he exaggerating Yao's workout? He put in one sentence. I doubt you've done any workout harder than that in your whole life.
