I'm always worried about his feet.I admit it's great to see the big guy knocking down free throws.

    Yao looks heavier.

I'm worried about not only his conditioning but also his weight.

If he breaks his foot again, what then????

I hope the Rockets took out a serious insurance policy on Yao.

    :( :( :(

    theSAGE

btw - I'm sorry but there is a short laundry list of things that, if I were GM, I would INSIST be done. Here it is...

    1. Yao needs to get a better shoe with even GREATER shock absorbtion (I think Nike should be answering this call.)
    2. Yao's weight should be kept to BELOW 300 lbs
    3. Yao's minutes should be kept BELOW 28 minutes
    4. Periodically and PROACTIVELY check the foot by a doctor
    5. Play Yao more like Rik Smits at the top of the key to reduce his running demands
    6. Have Yao wear KNEE PADS and perhaps even SHIN GUARDS and ELBOW PADS
    7. Get Yao off that Chinese diet and insist that Yao drink
    - FOUR GALLONS of milk a day + daily Fosamax
    - Eat 4 lbs of CHEESE a day
    - 10 cans of SARDINES a day
    - Regular Magnesium supplements
    8. Limit Yao's practice/scrimmage minutes
    9. Require that Yao wear ECCOs when in street clothes
    10. Buy Yao a SEGWAY for daily transportation.

Why did he wear gloves while shooting free throws?

Great to see his action on the court, even though it's not in actual game, it's just so sweet to have him back.

And 92 of 100 from ft line was just amazing. Once I was just shooting 9/10 from the line. If the amount goes up, my efficiency would definitely plunge.

This is a GREAT thing to see. Still definitely in the category of wishful thinking, but this bodes well for the rumor that Yao plans to come back towards the end of this year. Nobody seems to be saying that, but hey, he came back earlier than expected last time so he could play in the olympics. At this point it might be the only thing that can save our season.

Yao, what a blessing it is to have a guy like that. For all the people who took him for granted, questioned his heart or even think about trading him, just look at what he's done for us and what kind of effort he is showing right now.
It's good to have something to look forward to for next year.
