Just to let y'all know, the guy is a comedian in Japan and basically plays a big out of shape wrestling doofus on many Japanese TV shows. I am assuming this is a music video that he made in the campy Japanese sense of humor. Seems quite popular to have comedians making seriously campy promotional music videos.
Man, I love google video and utube - they have really brought some interesting videos to light over the last few months. Thanks for the background Mishii - it's even funnier now that I know he's a comedian. By the way, were you born in America? I don't run into many people in the Japanese community who know or care about the Rockets.
Yeah, I didn't want people to think that it was a serious Japanese music video or anything...but come to think of it, I think some of the "serious" Japanese music videos might look and especially sound like that as well As far as myself, I was born in Tokyo, but my family moved to Houston when I was still an infant. Lived in Houston until I left for college to the East Coast and my parents eventually moved to Dallas (oh the sin!). Now in Tokyo for a little while, but I bleed Rockets red. Still remember the first championship parade...
NIGHT OF FIRE.....YEAH!!!! I loved the part when he said "YEAH" and shot the fireball out of his mouth, how can you be ashamed of that?
You are not the only ones ashamed apparently, here's a video on the Asian American dilemma: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5847984513475560733
God bless the internet. that was great. and God bless the japanese for all the crazy **** they do and invent.
this seems as good a thread as any to bring this up. does anyone remember a video from a few years back where there was this dance contest type thing and this dorky looking white kid comes out and then just does all this crazy stuff, including this slow-motion looking move, and the whole crowd is going nuts watching him. it was on ebaumsworld but i can't seem to figure out any good google search terms to find it. anyone remember it or got a link to it? nevermind, found it.
