Why are you so negative? Brooks wasn't even half as amazing as he was the past 2 games last preseason. Are you hoping we'll lose with that Rafer comparison? This is more than impressive, our whole third/second string managed to beat the starting lineup of the Grizzlies.

The fact that you think we'll be relying on Rafer for 40 mins a game is atrocious, even for exaggeration. If Brooks struggles, we still got Barry. If that doesn't work, throw McGrady in at the PG position for a few minutes. Our team is deep, and Brooks is only entering his second season. Brooks is a good player and can only improve.

I thought I saw T-mac pass to Novak for the 3 and Rockets defeated SA Kings

I really, really hope you're right with your optimism, but I'm taking these preseason games with a grain of salt. He needs to bring it in the regular season in meaningful minutes. He showed some positive signs even last year, but months later he was completely out of our playing rotation.

I don't expect anything out of him on the defensive end, and I hope he improves his shooting and decision making, especially being able to harness his speed and not dribble into the land of nowhere.

At this point in Barry's career, I can't see him playing many minutes if at all at PG, and I want Tracy to be focusing on scoring more than PG duties. Maybe it would work better this year with Artest here. We'll see.

Wow, Wafer's a legit shooter imo, reminiscent of Peja

LOL. Some of you guys kill me. He had one good performance but lets not go overboard here. Anybody that's ever played a game of basketball whether it be organized or pick-up knows you have a game like this once in a great while where you make your first couple of shots and you're on fire. Every scrub has his day....

idk i wouldn't be so quick to jump the gun, maybe he's been able to shoot a bit more consistently than his first couple of seasons but if i had to choose i would definitely choose strawberry over wafer. from what i've read up on wafer he has alot of potential but he doesn't seem to have the motivation to play defense. he's athletic sure and a can get to the rim but honestly he hasn't signed a lengthy contract yet =/ idk he has signs of potential though..

Thank you Clutch, It was great to see !
If the Giant doesn't get you we will set Rafer and Wafer free and they will take a big bite out of your score! :p
It will be good to have an experienced team with a few young players of great potential. Go Rockets! :p

i would chose von wafer because watching strawberry last season he isn't good enough offensive-wise in the nba..at least von wafer is showing some potential..and even if strawberry's got good D..he still wont be able to stop the top guards in the league..so it's not going to make much of a difference since the only way to counter a great guard in the league is with good offense...and strawberry obviously won't score on his star defenders and wouldn't be a great +/- if u know what i mean

I am convinced that Wafer is a fluke. Look how open he was! I think Barry and Head can hit those threes too. in real games, only Rafer can get that open.

for him, Brooks is the problem.

Strawberry does not need Brooks. he can create.

    That is straight ignorant.

First off this is AB's role on the team. To use his speed to penetrate, draw in other player then find the open man. For him to find the open man on a hop is crucial by itself.

6 of the 7 3's were assist by AB (other by Scola).

I think with some actual minutes this year AB will become a strong assist leader for the Rockets.

What I found funny was when Wafer added Rafer to his end statement.....like he didn't want to leave him out, HAH.

Oh and also, its still preseason and all, but I would easily take either of the choices over Head.

he'll get those open looks all season. the big 3 may all be doubled, and so Rafer, Barry, and whoever is out there needs to be able to knock those shots down. i see Wafer doing it moreso than Strawberry, but like everyone said, i'd rather keep both than to have Luther.

I wouldn't take both, just one or the other. But preferably Wafer just for the short burst offense. Get a TE for Head, pick up Wafer. Wait till mid season and pick up Deke if Dorsey can't hold on for 8 minutes while Yao rest.

Follow this and we just might be on the line of the LT.

If we picked up both and Deke later on we would still have problems with LT.

100% disagree, this team has more options, if Brooks or Rafer is struggling, Barry can run the point, or Tmac can run it......with Brooks at the small SG role or Luther there.

    Versatility is the key.....

Brooks is improving, that is my main point...and that is great for the Rockets...

And if Francis ever gets healthy....ooooh baby !

Props to our other players, especially AB, for finding the open man. Nice job. The last three was just wow.

Uh, I'm not down on Brooks, but the time will come when Rafer plays 40 minutes. It will.
