it's pretty underrated compared to what his peers of the same contract are doing.

KG makes $24 million and is putting up 20 and 9, with the best talent in the east and yet unable to win on the road
allen iverson makes $20 mil and sucked in the first round
shaq makes $20 mil and sucked in the first round
jkidd makes $20 mil and sucked in the first round
duncan makes $20 mil and has had some REALLY BAD games in the playoffs

and we still have guys like stephon, jermaine, finley, and chris webber making more than tmac.

tmac is not underrated, but he earned his cash by stepping up in the playoffs. we could be in a worse position with jason kidd or AI.

I totally agree with everything you said, but unfortunately, the media are just a bunch of idiots who only goes by superficial facts like "oh he's 0-7 in the playoffs, so he must choke during the playoffs....(wait who is there coach again? OH wait, we have no clue nor do we care....move on yada yada!" Most of the other superstars were fortunate enough to have played with some really good teams or played against some weak opponents. But Tmac was never favored to win against the likes of the Pistons or the Bucks (back when they were good), and here in Houston, its been the same thing except for last year, which we should've won anyways.

How many players who make $20 million could have carried this bunch of guys to 55 wins with Yao missing about a third of the season?? Not too many... heck not many teams evenreached 55 wins even with no injuries! Now count how many players make $20 million a year (or max contract guys) in this league, a lot! So maybe he is friggin underrated

No disrespect, but I think its safe to say no one underrated Landry. But his knees and height were questioned, thus passed over. Hell if Chuck Hayes we're 2-3 inches or so taller, or with longer arms, he would be a mid-first round pick.

I rather take this guy and have 10 extra mil to spend on another player...

Tmac is seriously overpaid :( that's why the rockets can't add the "3rd" guy...

dude don't use Ginobli as an example that TMac is overpaid, it is Ginobli who is underpaid. On the other hand, playing with Tim Duncan and Tony Parker can make a very good player, look great.

But manu got it easy, playing with 2 all stars while on the other hand most of the time tmac is double and playing with injurys and had to carry this team most of the season.

well if he was on the rockets, i doubt he just get $10 mil. the reason he signed his contract that way was b/c he wanted to stay for the spurs. he knows he's the 3rd best player on that team and he wanted to keep winning. $10 mil is pretty high for a "3rd option" and playing just 30 minutes a game.

and ekim, say you do get this option and get manu. who would you spend to get with that other $10 mil? everybody today is pretty much overpaid.

Is this the guy people want to get rid of? This video is sick. Actually I feel sick because the season is over and we aren't going to be seeing any of this until October.
