I watched the 4th quarter and I was very impressed. His shot looks good, great form, and he actually beat LBJ off the dribble a couple of times. What's impressive to me is his decision making. He had the chances to be selfish and take the open shots himself but often made great reads and passed the ball when his teammates were in a better position then he was to make the shot.

Yes, Im sure there is a vid somewhere of his pass(es).

He looks good, but I always discount it a bit when his three is falling (9 of his 16 points came on threes). Perhaps I'm selling him short, but shooting from distance isn't his strength.

Still, he did hit 3-3 last night from there. Impressive. So far it's been a good pickup for the Hawks.

I wouldn't be surprised if he worked on nothing but his 3 point shot this off-season.

If he has a solid 3 point shot going, he'd make a very good spark off the bench.

It's disappointing though, how his free throws always seem so inconsistent. He always missed a lot of free throws, even in his days in Orlando. I remember at one point post-injury when he was a Rocket he had a center's free throw percentage.

Still, he was a great talent that just never worked out. He's up there when it comes to HOF talent that just never reached the top.

Wow. I think that was the first time I cheered for him since the whole debacle.

    Good on him.

Would you characterize his play as that of a point-foward?

Tracy can play. That's it. He is healthly and can really contribute. The thing for him now is not to stay healthly, but stay CONSISTENT and AGRESSIVE. That is the key.

He'll be able to take advantage with a short season.

Less wear and tear on his body? And it helps he's coming off the bench and not be the focal point of the offense.

Those are spot-up 3s, not the usual 3s that he takes with us or when he was in his prime (superstar shots). TMAC is a very very good shooter when he spots up.

I think his playmaking reputation is the reason he's getting a lot of minutes from the Hawks as the Hawks don't have anyone close outside of Joe Johnson. Hopefully he'll still get a lot of minutes when Hinrich comes back, in a scorer's role.

It will be interesting to see how his knees and body hold up in this intenser than average season. With so many games packed in it will be a real test.

Overall, his elevation is much better than I have seen it in years, even better than during the 22 game win streak. So it''s no surprise he can hit the three ball when he is getting that high up on his jump shot.

But what was impressive was not the 3 balls but his movement, his drives, and passing. I think he can play like this as he isn't depending on explosiveness to be good - that's a very good sign for him.

Seems like he has graduated to a crafty starter-type role player. Would be a great addition to many teams. He continues like this an he will get on a contender and get his long coveted ring.

This! Really, I always thought it was silly when some psters said he blocked a trade by getting a potential career ending surgery. DD is my dude, but saying it was simple sregery like a scope or something. From 1st hand experience that I know, the doctors kept saying it was pain tolerence, but he was injured. Players play hurt, injjred is another thing. He did what was best for his long term career vs doing the grant hill and screwing his career up for 5 yrs or so.

Our, and most, doctors told him he should play through it, and it wouldn't get worse. That most likely was right, but TMAC didn't feel right. He knows his own body, and there was no way he looked like an average player then. He got worse as the season progressed. Another doctor told him otherwise, and look at him now. He's finally pain free, and moving much better than he ever has since 08-09.

The delusional posters who still believe TMAC did that to block the trade is still delusional.

I was pulling for him last night when I realized the Hawks could win the game. I only wish Shane was playing for somebody else...

Disappointed it didn't work with us, but he's showing he's finally embracing his role as a bench player and that he's willing to buy into the team concept. I think he's mainly playing this well because he knows next season when teams that clean up cap are able to sign players, the ones who don't get Deron or Howard will be willing to sign him and other viable free agents.

Really wish he wasn't mentally fragile, if he had the mental game to back up his talents he would've definitely been a HOF for sure. As long as he plays consistently aggressive and plays within the offense I'm sure he'll get his last big contract. I'm positive someone'll overpay him..
