I got an e-mail from someone asking for the name of the song in the video, so I'll post it here for everyone. The song is "Alive and Kicking" by Nonpoint. I heard it for the first time on Thursday and had it stuck in my head so figured why not use it in the video. Seems to have gone over pretty well.
CCR, I'm not adding anything new, but just blending in with the compliments you're getting. Still, I felt I had to add one more "great job, awesome video" comment. Now that Yao's got all of Hakeem's game(insert tongue in cheek here), all we need is for Yao to play with Dream's "tip to buzzer intensity" game after game after game after... Thanks CCR!
CCR, add another vote for Best Video Ever. For the sequel, you can add Moses tutoring Dream and after next year, Dream tutoring Yao...
If you guys get any ideas for another video I could make, let me know. Like I said before, I don't make them often but I do enjoy it a lot. So if you throw an idea out there that I like, it might take a while but I'd probably get around to it eventually and of course this would be the first place I post it.
Great stuff, ClutchCityReturns. Loved the comparisons. We have TWO, count 'em, two foreigners putting Houston on the map. OK, maybe Deke, too. What's your software for the video? Have you TEXT'd message'd anyone FAST yet?
Ok that's funny. Thanks for the compliments. The foreign thing was another comparison that I tried to show in the video without spending too much time on it. That's why I chose to open it with pictures of each of them from when they were younger. Pretty amazing to think that they both came from so far, geographically and culturally. I mean, coming from Nigeria or China isn't like coming from Europe, I wouldn't think. As far as the program, I just used Windows Movie Maker. Just the standard program that comes with XP. I should probably look into getting something a little more advanced, but if I'm not mistaken those programs are very expensive.
Great video man. Only one thing that I noticed wasn't replicated was the shot of Rudy with both fists pumped in the air. No shot of Van Gundy there. Hopefully we'll get to see that before he is through here.
That's pretty funny. Would have been impossible to find that of Van Gundy, me thinks. I probably would have had to break into his house and steal a VHS from his high school days to find footage of him that happy. But, I actually think you're confused about that part of the video. The Rudy "moment" was simply part of Yao's clip. I didn't add it in. It was supposed to be sort of symbolic, with Rudy celebrating Yao's clutch basket the same way he celebrated Hakeem's for all those years before. Make sense now?
Could someone reduce the size of that video and upload to a faster host (like rapidshare or something)? My workstation PC is down so I can't do it myself.
Awesome! You did a great job of pairing the clips. I'm surprised it only took you 12 hours. You must have a lot of video and a great knowledge for what you have. Thanks
