ok vunny....I watched it....and I must say that for a first effort....you did a pretty good job..

a couple of pointers if you are willing, if not..just skip this part...

1) It is tough to find good clear footage sometimes, I know that...the first thing I would do tho is to try to clean up what you got as much as possible...run it through a program like Virtual Dub that gives you filters to work with..you would be surprised how much of that grainy and offcolor source you can clean up.

2) effects......it is very easy to fall in love with all the neat things you can do with the footage....but afaic, less is more...maybe Im in the minority...but when the effects overshadow the source...you have detracted from the subject of the mix.

All in all , good job and I expect to see more out of ya in the future..

Disclaimer: The following rant is not aimed at anyone in particular(unless you do what I am ranting about, this is based off the attitude I have seen from other "mixmakers" concerning watermarks.)

Among the video capping/encoding community, one of the most disrespectful things that some folks do with other's footage is to remove/mask the watermarks that the capper puts on them at the time of encode...if someone is going to use someone else's source...they should not mask the watermark.

I mention this now because I saw at several points in the mix some of my footage and it was obvious that the watermark was masked....It may seem vain of me, but I get a kick out of seeing how far around the internet my work gets...its weird..I know...but hey...what can ya do?

nice job overall some points

try beginning footage from YOTY was taken from a cam bootleg thus the hollow sounding audio and the poor video quality. not too much can be done to filter it completely. only suggestion here is to re-do the video once the yoty dvd is out and you would have access to a good video source of it.

calm down on the filters... a filter that looks cool done once or twice but is annoying afterwards is the light filter or whatever is called. the one where it seems rays of light are emerging from the person. the ending was good there w/ the song by enya, but too much black/white along with the light filter imo.

when making such a long clip you need to choose the songs wisely. i believe you put 'deliver me' in between two prodigy songs which threw off the flow. and since there is no real pause between the songs make some sort of transitions or a complete fade to black before the next song transitions in. i am not sure if you were trying to create a specific vibe for each song or what.

great job overall appreciate the effort put into it. i've done a few clips myself and they took a while to choose and edit i could only imagine the time put in to make a 35 min movie. i really liked the ending outside of the effects mentioned above.

as for the watermarking issue r2k brought up.... its probably better to keep them in than trying to remove them (if that is what you did) just give credit where it is due.

R2K, I was plowing through this download at 110KB/S then when I got ~85% done it slowed down to 33KB/S. After getting to 90% it started climbing back up to over 90 by the time it finished. What gives? Why does the speed vary so widely over just 35 minutes?

its the nature of the bittorrent network....you are depending on the upload speeds of a bunch of normal users just like you...also...consider that the mean internet traffic at this time of the day jumps exponentially with people gettting home and gettin online...therefore increasing the amount of traffic on the net.

just be patient and it will be done before you know it..
