T jones needs more playing time, I'd like to see how he'd do now with 10 minutes that isn't in garbage time.

I think he and D-Mo will have a few more D-League stints before they are given a proper chance to earn a rotation spot.

Extremely impressive. The chips just keep accumulating. So hard to say which assets will be with us after the next big trade.

TJones' ceiling is much, much higher than SoftPat.

It really sucked to see the bench emptied and D-Mo still sitting there until the final 2 minutes...again.

TJones will get his minutes soon enough. im looking for a midseason breakthrough due to a trade/injury of some sort ala carl landry but even better

ADD D-Mo to the list, too. We are loaded with young bigs that ALL show so some promise. PLUS "Mr. Mis-match" White (if / when he gets it all together)

The whole team is so young & promising; what good problem to have.

If they could only start TJones...

    C - Asik / Smith
    PF - TJones / PPat
    SF - Parsons / Morris
    SG - Harden / Delfino
    PG - Lin / Douglas

Even though its garbage minutes...when he plays...he plays with confidence...something that our entire starting line-up lacks...except Harden...Pairing Harden with TJones might be a better combo...This team is desperate for a PF...and our answer is stuck in the bench quicksand.

Garbage time is garbage time. I like Jones' skills, but he has looked tentative and almost lost at times in non-garbage times this year. Obviously not ready and should wait til he's settled in before giving him major minutes. Or until we trade Patterson or Morris.

A little early for starting minutes. He played like crap against OKC - he will have ups and downs because he is a rookie. But he should be on the field for extended minutes (10-15 minutes per game sound about right) - if he has an off day, limit his minutes, if he is playing very well, increase his minutes. But give him a chance every night...

We will never know until he is either traded or these fools realize that its allright to give a rookie a chance.I would have been happier if it wasnt garbage time against almost no defense though. But thats probably all he is going to see this year if he stays in Houston.

Said it right there. And on top of those clamoring for 2Pat to sit, they weren't saying that the last few games. Grow some stones and stay with your guns, it's early in the season, and TBH the only player who has played under par the whole year has been Lin.

I've said all along that he'd prob. be the one that pans out the best. This was garbage time where I'm sure it felt like practice at the time, but alas it was a game. It counts even in garbage time.

What I see in him is a fluid playing style, he's quick, lengthy, but the first step is quickly deceptive. I think he's going to be better than PP. For those saying he is already c'mon man. PP used to (Because this year is well who knows?) but PP used to be almost the 2nd coming of Chuck Hayes in the way he played D. TJones is going to be just as weak of a PF as is PP. TJones just has a better shot, better handles, and he's quicker. Stronger? nope.
Until PP is traded, or Morris does something negative there isn't enough time to just drop him in right now. Only in dire circumstances do coaches go do something like that, which would be exactly what giving TJones 20 mins. as a rookie would be doing "DIRE."

We have Harden right now. If TJones comes in do you think Harden will allow his PF to dribble the ball at the top of the key, and make iso plays. Maybe once, or twice when Harden gets left open on the close out for a corner 3 like TD had in this sequence of events posted. Harden would tell TJones he's in the wrong spot. TJones first needs to set a pick, a solid one at that. We'll see he has a lot of potential, but it isn't there to grab right now...

Yeah, the problem with Tjones is he's not consistent, at least not yet. Typical mid to late pick. However, he could still play well as an energy guy, so i'm not against giving him more time immediately. His moves look polished in garbage time with some defenders only going 50-70%, but during competitive times he needs to focus more on being scrappy and doing the dirty work. He has more control over that than his offense.

T.Jones is good, and talented...but lets not forget how he looked in quality minutes against the Thunder and under respected opponents...

This was garbage time, and though it is not actual game speed it shows that his stint in the D-league gave him some confidence and affirmation of his skills...he looks more competent and sure of the moves he makes...
