I dont think he meant "finest hour" to a point where it limits that term to this particular event only... and while you bring up points about our championship past, that does not mean alot particularly in an era in which the Rockets have lost in the playoffs or not made it... when theres signs of a true breakout season, its understandable for a commentator for the ROckets of many years to finally break out and make a bold statement

I was laughing my ass off during the end of the game. Bill was acting like we won a championship and Tmac bricked a couple of 3's.

given the context of bill's statements, i don't think he was saying it was tmac and yao's finest hour, though it's possible. i just take it for what it is, and that's an extremely excited, honest to goodness fan showing his pride for what this undermanned, under-talented team is achieving. i'm sure he'll step back some day and will measure the championships against this, and it won't be so easy for him to say that this streak is more inspiring. but we can all agree that this is a special moment made more special by the stories underpinning every person from top to bottom in this organization and team, underdogs every one of them, and it's hard to fault bill worrell for being proud of them.

Bill is just foretelling the future. If we win the NBA title this year, it will be the Rockets finest hour.

It was a bit over zealous but the guy is live. He's got one take. And its been said, this is only the third time in the history of the league that this particular achievement has happened. Worrell's a homer; I like it.

He said being proud, not the best moment ever from what I understood.

I mean, the championship teams didn't lose Hakeem and go on to win the championship. This was more along the lines of losing our best player, and then still showing the heart and will to move forward and win your way into the history books. That fact certainly makes me super proud of this team!

On a lighter note, I wonder what JVG is thinking right now...

What he meant was that this is the begining of the Rockets finest hour since we will win a Championship.

Well, even if we win a title this year, it will not surpass 95 in excitement.

Clutch speaks the truth. Well he did say this is their final hour, right after mentioning tmac and yao, he certainly could of meant tmac.

You know, i have to agree with what Worrel said. There are more teams to have won championship than teams that won at least 20 in a row. That in my opinion, is a bigger accomplishment.

agreed. i was cool with the "I've never been prouder" ... pride is subjective. absolutely no finer hour than hoisting the ultimate goal.

btw, to the folks suggesting its the finest hour of the Yao/TMac era, he prefaced the comment by referencing his career ... from the 'era of Moses Malone' etc.

so, nah, he talking about all the teams he covered.

    Bingo.

Winning 20 games in a row is probably harder than winning a championship.

CLEARLY he's not talking about just Tracy and Yao's finest hour but Rockets history. It can be spun in other directions but he preceded Tracy and Yao with mentions of previous eras. He didnt HAVE to mention them at all if he just meant the current Rockets period.

But oh well, he and the others providing Rockets coverage from Bullard down to Don Chaney seemed to genuinely appreciate the historical significance of the streak.

i LOVE bill. He brings excitment and energy. So much better then boring announcers (like pat summeral). He is a fan and was yelling out of being estatic.
