I agree. I think he his minutes should be upped from 8 or so a game to about 12 minutes while the coaches explain exactly what they want from defense out of him. Then we will see how he does.
i really hope that Trevor learns how to use his left hand like Tracy does...I think that was one of Tracy's greatest offensive strengths was his ability to finish with either hand at a high %. I remember earlier in the season on that lefty layup tmac had last night there was almost an exact play by trevor...fake a 3 drive in and finish but he went up with his right and got the shot block when if he went up with his left he would have had an easier shot. one thing i will mention though -- the offense did seem to lose some flow when Tracy was in there...he was shooting well and aggressive but the clippers announcers were even noting that it seems that everyone was just trying to get him the ball and play off of him unlike before when everyone was aggressive. it will be interesting to see if he remains this aggressive in the coming games
Why does he need to prove anything on defense? Tmac has never been known to be a defensive player. His crowning achievement defensively was locking Dirk up in the playoffs, and that happened so many years ago when he was in his prime and relatively injury free. IMHO the only ones nitpicking on his defense when he has his best game of the year are haters like you.
I don't see how his play last night differs from when a teammate is playing well and they feed off of it. Our starting PG dominates the ball when he's hot (sometimes not). He just doesn't have to pass it to himself since he's already bringing the ball up. To me though, I thought Tracy wanted to be more assertive. Make quick decisions and be aggressive. Seemed like he was more confident in his knee/body. At least we can see he can still play. Once he works on finishing around the rim and his conditioning, he'll be an asset any team *should* want. We'll just have to continue to watch how this all plays out.
Yeah, they knew they were the better team and we still pushed them to 7. Do I think we can beat the lakers? No, not really. We can definitely beat the spurs, kiddo.
I think a contender should be able to play inside & outside, fast pace & halfcourt games. If the rockets are only able to play small ball, we won't go far in playoffs. With Tmac, we are able to play halfcourt games. I think that's a good thing.
No it is not, because if it runs through Tracy the team loses in the first round. Tracy needs to learn to let it flow through EVERYONE.... He is not consistent enough, nor has he ever been, to win in the playoffs as the focal point. DD
He doesn't have to try to score, I'll take McGrady in the high post passing the ball over anyone on this team. He doesn't have to be the focal point, but when we need a basket, it will be good to have him.
More playoff games means more revenue for everyone. I think they could've taken us in 6 if they wanted. Assuming their current roster stays healthy, the Spurs should be rolling by the time the playoffs come around. And assuming our current roster stays the same, we wouldn't stand a chance. What advantages do you think we have over the Spurs?
I think the rockets are playing the small ball style because they have to. The small ball never win the title. 'FLOW' is overrated...
