Like I've been saying since the start of the season........Not everybody bounces back from knee surgery.......it's not guaranteed.

    Anybody remember...

I remember those days, because Davis was my favorite Texan......he had his knee scoped just like Tracy. Then came into camp and took himself out of practice, because the knee "just didn't feel right" or swell or buckle. (just like Tracy)

He never bounced back from the scope, instead he develped a degenerative knee condition and ended up being bone on bone............career over.

our rockets team reminds me of a greek tragedy. no matter how high things may look, all that goes well ends horrifically in a sudden almost ironic tragic fashion.

it's disheartening as a fan. it really is. crossing my fingers for good news tomorrow.

If the surgeon did what he was supposed to do, it should be nothing serious. However, with Battier coming back, TMAC should shut it down until he is 100% comfortable out on the court. Otherwise, he will play tentative with the fear of "tweaking" it.

Yao is OK. He said the reason he left the game was just for caution. He felt some pain but kept playing until he felt it's safe to leave the game when Rockets was in big lead.

some will say that t-mac is being "smart" and doesn't want to push his body too far.

others will say players with heart have to be begged by the medical staff to shut it down, not pro-actively telling the media hes shutting it down before the MRI.

the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I think he prob plays if its the playoffs..

Didnt say he injured on purpose, but the guy is fragile, always gets hurt. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time. Hopefully he can come back soon. Also, didnt know this topic was already on another thread, my humble apologies to the thread monitors.

Never trust Yao when it comes to his health. Have we not figured this out by now?

i'm scared about yao and t-mac right now.

artest's injury looks pretty standard and he's not really injury prone.

yao's injury last year seemingly came out of nowhere, so i'm afraid it's serious. :(

t-mac's definitely sounds like he could be missing a lot of time. :(

I hope that Chinese media source is right.

As far as T-Mac getting hurt....who is suprised. I kinda expect him to get hurt at some point in the season. I just hope it's not year ending. This is exactly why we got Artest. Now if Ron is out then that's a different story.

As fans we are frustrated with the injury situation, but I bet the players feel even worse. I know T-mac doesn't show emotion but it probably is killing him inside.

It takes a while to get the confidence in it, and Tmac has not been in shape this year...those extra LBS's are not helping.

Possibly the big three needed to be on the bench, so a copy cat injury occurs----- I'am not playing if he isn't playing!!! :p

Just refer to them as the three graces!!

Here is an update from Feigen that supports the reports from the Chinese media on Artest and Yao. I think all three of them should have an MRI to be safe.

    Rockets run through Thunder
Yao, McGrady & Artest banged up in win

OKLAHOMA CITY – First Tracy McGrady went down, but the damage seemed at a minimum. He was declared "fine" and likely to play again, and the Rockets soon opened a commanding lead.

Then Yao Ming went out after turning his left ankle. But Yao was soon laughing, and the Rockets pulled safely beyond the reach of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Finally in the closing seconds, Ron Artest limped off, having sprained his left ankle while falling over a cameraman. Moments later, the Rockets closed out a 100-89 win over the Thunder, and the laugher of a win inspired only gallows humor.

"People are thinking," Yao said, "’Yeah, here is another year like the last three years.’ "

The Rockets were not that pessimistic quite yet. Even more asked, Yao said he was unconcerned.

"Just so you know, my ankle is fine," he said. "My goal, is still (to play) 82 games."

Artest, though limping badly, said he did not think he would miss a game, either.

"I just came down funny," Artest said. "I doubt (it would force him to miss a game.) People sprain their ankle all the time. It’s not broken."

McGrady, however, was openly frustrated by bouncing back so slowly from his knee surgery six months ago. He had been playing well on Monday, making 4 of 6 shots to score eight points in 18 minutes. But on the second possession of the second half, he grimaced in pain after sending a pass to Luis Scola.

Though he told coaches he could return to the game, Rockets coach Rick Adelman said he chose not play McGrady while McGrady was limping and McGrady said he is now considering sitting out.

"My knee gave out on me," McGrady said. "They told me if I was to go back in, and they saw me limping they were going to take me back out. I was like, "Well, that’s what you’re pretty much going to see.’ My knee is feeling right. I hate to do this, but I’m going to get an MRI tomorrow and until, further notice, I’m going to have to shut it down.

"Tonight, I went back to square one, like before even surgery. I’ve always been feeling it, but tonight, before that particular play, I came up and it just gave out on me. I’ve been trying to work my way into playing shape and strengthen my leg. I’ve never been 100 percent. I’ve just been hoping playing on it would put me over the edge and I won’t have any more pain, but it hasn’t worked." ...[/rquoter]

I think Yao also should take a MRI scan. He needs to be more careful!
