this guy t-mac could be a starter in the league the next few years to come, we have a great bunch of rookies  maybe he could be an all star to bad he don't pass the ball in that few possession i would have love to see team playing from his part

He did ok overall....here is what I saw.....

    Positives.

    1. His shot looked good, in balance on both make and miss
    2. He jumped very high for one rebound, on both knees
    3. No limping at all
    4. He took it to the hole drawing a foul
    5. He got 3 rebounds.
    6. He did not demand the ball and let AB do his thing.

    Negatives

    1. He did not run, nothing more than a jog
    2. On D, he gave up a layup, a post up and a jumpshot.
    3. He looked SLOW even on his drive
    4. He missed both his FTs
    5. Seemed a bit lost on some of the offense

So, I think it was a mixed overall performance, and I can see why Adelman has not been playing him because right now he is not ready to beat out the top 3 guys, even though his skillset is better, his motor, his confidence, and his ability to run are not there yet.

I am not saying he is done, but he did not look GOOD....just....ok.

usually the break started so fast that only 2 of the rockets got upcourt. tmac wasn't the only one that stayed in the backcourt. AB was ridiculously fast in the first quarter.

He was sluggish and looked out of shape.

Adelman was justified in keeping him out for so long.

i think you're just breaking down his plays too much. How many players don't give up layups or shots every game? if you count that alley as the lay up, then that's excusable since he got caught off guard at the rim, wasnt his man...being lost on offense is also expected, they havent practice much and that was a big reason why adelman was hesitating to bring him back. That should not be a knock on tmac's effort or play.

funny how some people were sooooo sure that he was never going to play a single minute with the Rockets this season, or anytime in the future. i wont call anyone out, i think everyone knows who i am talking about.

Not a knock at all, just observations as to why he has not been playing.

All 3 of the wings who have been playing are WAY more explosive right now, and much quicker....

Tmac needs to get to that point, be able to run.....that is why Rick has been sitting him......it is quite obvious.

i think i recall mcgrady expressing that he needed time to get into game shape. That doesnt mean he doesnt have to play. Again him and Adelman were not on the same page at first. Now mcgrady knows what Adelman had in planned. that he would bring mcgrady back when he would be effective. Well now Adelman has changed his mind and decided to work mcgrady in cuatiously

It's pretty hard to gauge where T-Mac is based on 8 minutes of playing time tonight but...

    Things we can tell
    - His leg looks like it's fine
    - He can still jump after seeing his two shots, rebounds, and contests
    - As expected, speed and stamina is not 100%
    - Looked a little lost at times on offense and defense. Again, it was his first game back.

    Things we can't tell
    - How he is going to play within our offense
    - How much is he going to handle the ball
    - How explosive/aggressive he is going towards the basket

Good to see him back though and the next few games just got A LOT more interesting. Still a lot of questions to be answered as far as chemistry goes as well as his future with the team beyond this year. I think most of those questions will be answered soon enough as we watch him play the next couple of months.

I have to agree with DaDa...he didn't look bad, but he didn't really play long enough to say he played really well or better.

And about the limp - how do you tell with this guy? Dude always runs like that. Maybe it's because I always remember him as slightly injured, but that's just how I remember dude jogging down the floor anyways.

I hope we're showcasing him to try and convince other teams he can still play - and maybe he can - I don't care. I am a Rockets fan first and, in most cases, I can overlook disliking a player for the greater Rockets good (see Antoine Carr...ouch, the memories).

But I believed in T-Mac, I loved the guy, I defended him, etc...but my memory isn't so short to forget the complete ridiculousness he put the team through in the past year or two. The effort put forth by the rest of our team this year is just a glaring reminder that I'm ready to move on and would love to part ways with TMac, in any way we can (unless it really cripples the team).

So dude can come back and play, and I assume he'll play better than he did tonight (didn't have a ton of chance to develop a rhythm or get his legs under him). And I'll be happy if/when we win games, but I'll never jump back on the TMac wagon. Not again.

Fair enough. I didnt even notice the 5 rebounds he had in 7 minutes of play. The best thing is those negatives are easily fixed once he gets more playing time. And if you break down the shots against him while he was on D his man went 2 for 7.

Imo, he looked good, not great.

I say play him more minutes. He said he didn't feel tired. Put him to the test.

I say that b/c I don't think he can keep up just yet. I mean as soon as the ball was rebounded or taken out of the net, the team was running. Tracy definitely wasn't used to that. Get him used to it.

I liked what I saw. He came out and was moving without the ball, setting screens, and running the offense.

The layup he "gave up" he was running back and covered another man (I think it was his man) and a trailer came in and got a layup. Hardly giving up a layup.

The drive seemed pretty strong to me. He got the foul. If it was so slow, I would imagine it would have resulted in a turnover or a bad shot.

His post game was pretty honest and he just seemed genuinely glad that Houston cheered for him when he came in. He said he was nervous. I'm glad he admitted that. I was nervous for him, haha.

Anyway, it was just a few minutes, and it was really good to see him out there. Let's see what both Tracy and Rick do from here.

For a guy who was making such a big deal about being ready to play, he was decidedly underwhelming.

In my opinion, he wasn't ready to play which tells me that his performance tonight was simply an audition for other teams.

yes it can be obvious when you see for yourself, but its not like the rockets have been straight forward with this situation.

TC looked to be about 75% capacity, and of those present it was hardly a unanimous ovation.
