a lot of it is not physical rust, but mental rust. If he hasnt pratice enough wiht the team because of the hectic schedule then he's not going to be able to jump right in and know how to fit in, even battier said that himself after coming back from that week off, that he had to sit back and see where he fit in with the new guys. that mental rust will cause physical hesitation.

You have a valid point, but he was moving slow even when he was trying to run the floor.

T-mac has to be in real good shape if he wants to get playing time. A couple of times on fast breaks he was the last player back, but I know it's his first game back. This offense is not the same one when he last played. Theres a lot more fast breaking and a lot more sprinting. I hope he's ready for the challenge. Other than that, I liked how coach RA was using T-mac coming off picks for a jumper and the one post up play. I think RA will find a way to give T-mac touches withought having him dominate the ball.

my experience with the situations, tells me that you have never really experienced it but have taken the information you think you know based off of what you've heard. I think i have more credibility in this case, but you can just tell me that you have played sports(basketball to be more specific) before. again i said probably.

Looks like McGrady will get some more playing time tomorrow night. I hope this means that he will be getting more and more minutes gradually until he is able to start again.

    ESPN

The Rockets play in Denver on Wednesday and Adelman said he'll play McGrady about the same amount of time.

"He knows how to play the game, it's the little things, like when he took it to the basket and got fouled," Adelman said. "Those are the types of things we are looking for and his continued effort on the defensive end. With that injury, the lateral quickness and the comfort level is not there and he's got to push himself to get to that point."

I think you, I, coach adelman (who wasn't too enthusiastic about his ablility or playing him in general), and most other people know the was already extremely inefficient the two years leading into the surgery. Don't understand how microfracture is going help any of that other than maybe keep him as a decent player in the league any longer.

    Here's what you originally said:

Based on your own words, you believe that the intensity during practice is fine, but it can't compare to the intensity of actual games. This is true, but isn't it also true that by increasing the intensity of his training, he could be better prepared for actual competition?

That's my point...my sound, logical point....from which you were somehow able to "deduce" that I've never played sports.

Its the same reason Yao can't prevent his injuries by practicing harder...both are damaged goods.

That might be the case, I noted the time on the game clock where I notice him favoring the knee. The red leg sleeve was distracting and can probably contribute to my point of view.

    5:40
3:40 while he jogs look @ Left knee
3:29 he stutter steps favoring knee
    2:58 look @ left knee
    2:01 jogging after half court
    1:00 Pushing of Right knee
0:37 sec skip while landing on his Right knee first

    Here you go.

You can only increase your intensity during practice to a certain level...as in the competition he will play against..

Playing against bud, ariza, chuck etc is only going to prepare him up to a certain level.

It doesn't account for when he will have to play against 80% of the teams that have better players.

Yao is too slow and gets injured too much. He needs to work on that by practicing harder. Both are physically limited.

To be honest, I was hoping that he would be more reminiscent of the 2008 McGrady as opposed to the 2009 McGrady.

It depends on the type of training you're talking about. I'm referring to improving his speed, agility, and explosiveness, and this type of training doesn't require competition.

I can't even believe I am seeing you post this. Are you serious? YOU of all people are seriously accusing people of misinterpretting things?

    Management: "There is no timetable"
Management: "I don't care if he thinks he is ready, we are sticking to the timetable"
Management: "We arent bringing him back in back to back games"
Management: "We are bringing him back for back to back games"
Management: "He won't play against Detroit"
Management: "He is playing vs. Detroit"

2008 mcgrady still had an occasional game he could go off on. I can't see how he could outperform Cbud, Ariza, or anyone else on this roster for that matter now...plus the guy is 31.
