This is the first time I have been impressed by Shaq!
YOUNGISH Coach with contemporary ideas and plays
I like it but it is the opposite of what Morey is thinking!!
Adleman is 60 years of age, if its Adleman then we should have a more contemporary staff like Shaw and Elie. Young supporting coaches ready to take over the moment Adleman runs into physical trouble. During the 60s there are many changes taking place in the human's ability. :p
    Les should cover all bases!!

I agree with what shaq said. these retread coaches will be running the same old plays, what makes people think that rick adleman, larry brown and rudy t are going to bring something different to the team in order to make them successful. say what you will, but jvg probably got about as much out of this team as any one could.
Plus, why wouldn't Tmac and yao respect a coach like Mario Elie? Mario's got rings, he's been around the world playin ball and he's got that bulldog attitude that this team needs. i would doubt a team coached by mario elie would have problems closing out games in the clutch.

"One day the Great T-Mac and the Great Yao Ming will get tired of losing, and that's when it will click and they will become a great duo." (My favorite quote, gives me some hope since Shaq has been there and done that, he knows how it works)

"Your girlfriend Chuck Hayes ran into me!" (the Chuksta would be ecstatic to know that the Great Shaquille Rashuan O'Neal knows his name)

Oh, and Shaq all but called for JVG to be fired...SHAQ IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE "FIRE JVG CLUB"!

The Big Aristotle has spoken...you can't go against his wishes or you WILL suffer.

I heard he has a house in texas only for tax purposes. No state income tax so he declares this as his residency. oh wait...I think florida is like that too.

i don't want to make this a race thing...but notice Shaq only mentions 2 african american young coahces...why doesn't me mention Scottie Brooks or Mark Iavaroni......if they are qualified for the job, GREAT..go for it...but stop throwning names out there just because you support fellow African americans...isn't that reverse racism? yeah like Brian Shaw and Chuck person are better hires than Rick Adelman or keeping JVG..give me a break...

you can also see what i'm talking about with the Bobcats coaching vacancy....of the first 5 coaches they interviewed, 4 were african american....lets see who is doing the hiring: Michael Jordan and Bernie Bickerstaff....they try so hard to get African Americans the position, that they over look qualities in other coaches who are more qualified....

I know there is no way this would happen, but if the rockets ever went and hired Brian Shaw or Chuck Person...i would cancel my season tickets immediately..only becuas I KNOW there are better candidates out there that are mor qualified....it hasa nothing to do with race...if we could go after a coach like Theus or Byron Scott, I wolnd't have a problem with it ...

anyways, i'm done venting.....didn't want to offend anybody....

I find it ironic that Shaq is complaining about retread coaches considering he's the one that helped push Dell Harris out the door for Phil Jackson and helped push Stan Van Gundy out the door for Pat Riley.

I love how people who drop a racial bomb always go with the "I'm not a racist and I hope I don't offend anyone. . ." Why weren't you complaining when most of the candidates mentioned for jobs were white? It's funny, it's ok for a white GM to hire a white coach, but if a black GM hires a black coach he should look for someone who is "more qualified".

Why do they call Shaq the big Aristotle? To me, he seems very platonic. In fact, Plato was a great athlete as well, and had a figure similar to Shaqs'. All in favor of changing Shaq's name to the Big Plato say I.

Shaq was a monster on the court in his prime, but I don't exactly hang on his every comment. Frankly, his views on the Rockets are irrelevant and wrong. For one thing, the Rockets obviously don't have "all the pieces." Ray Charles could see that this team needs more talent, especially at PG and PF. Good grief, a no brainer.

Phil Jackson and Pat Riley have championships. So I don't think they qualify as retread coaches.

As coach, Avery Johnson has exactly the same number of championship rings as I do.
