oh for the love of pete...FB comes up with a well reasoned post that mark simply replied to and you couldn't even pony up and reply to that one. You really are weak.
Al Queda has become a catch- all name for all disenfanchised islamic based militias. These resistance fighters can exercise only guerilla tactics when faced with overwhelming military superiority. They use horor tactics like publicized beheadings to generate publicity for their cause and amplify the perception of their power. They know the response of the American public will pressure our leadership to withdraw or compromise. It is their only hope for victory. Every innocent human life is worth the same amount. Every death in war is regrettable. A death by televized beheading is the same as a death by a laser guided bomb; only the reaction of people make it different. The time for bickering over the reasons for the war in Iraq is over with the exception of the next time you walk into a voting booth. The time for the politcal exploitation is over. We Americans need tosupport whatever efforts that can be made toward establishing order in Iraq and leaving the country. Debate over this course is warranted but irrational ranting only serves the cause of those that would harm our American troops.
First, obviously, this is horrible. That's what Al Qaeda does. They're terrorists and murderers. And they're famously into bloody retribution. That's one of the main things we here and many in Congress (including McCain) were worried about when we heard about the prison stuff. Second, to RM95: I didn't report NJRocket for his cryptic threat. I just asked him what he meant and then rimrocker said he'd like to know too. And then you brought it up in this thread. In all three cases he chose not to answer -- like most internet 'bullies' he ran away. He and Jorge are all alone now. Even bama's agreed the prison abuses were awful. So, scoreboard: everybody hates Al Qaeda and the crimes they commit against humanity. Everybody here is on record as supporting the American troops, except when they also commit crimes against humanity. Except NJ and Jorge. They're for crimes against humanity, as long as they're committed by Americans. It's even lonelier for NJ than it seems though, since Jorge has proven again and again he doesn't actually mean anything he posts here.
Strike 38. But its ok, you can always buy more tokens at the change machine. Try choking up on your bat of arguing skills. Or you could always read a newspaper. The funnies kill me and would be good for getting your mind off of things like losing arguements horribly.
A fine collection of trenchant analysis... 29 posts in this thread... I'll be generous and say two were substantive.
Your post here shows clearly and without question that YOU are the one without a clue. So far, I have resorted to personal namecalling for only 2 people. One was a result of a bad day and I have since apologized. One deserved it and I will not apologize. You are gearing up to be the second member of the second group.
Well sorry to take the post off topic but just a couple points: 1. + to the family of the man, thankfully he died quickly and (to me) it didn't look like he was tortured beforehand. 2. It said he was a business man who was there but was not working for the government (I believe he was trying to make some money for his company selling telecommunications equiment/towers). Not that anyone had that coming but he put himself in a very bad situation and without protection (of the US troops or rotection provided by the contractors workign there) he had to know he was in a terrible situation. Again my prayers to his family, no one deserves that.
who's arguing? I support our troops and any means they use to win the war and there are those who think that there is a rule book somewhere in which we need to check to see how we are allowed to respond. nothing to argue about...i know exactly where i stand
As his subsequent post shows, that is NOT the case. Your reading comprehension must be as bad as t_js. I can sign you up for some remedial reading classes if you like.
I know we're not supposed to get personal on this board but sometimes you make it reeeeally difficult. I know this is difficult for you to understand, but you don't have to be a stark-raving-mad reactionary to feel horror at the gruesome murder of an American. We could say, Typical hard-liner, except you would probably smile like a proud father if we did.
You're right. F#&* integrity. Are you insane? I support troops who represent my country and not disgrace it's already floundering reputation. There is a rule book btw. There is a way to go about things. It's how civilized people behave. Whos arguing? Not you. Not with any substansive reasoning, anyway. I dispise people who take words out of my mouth.
Wrong. We are the torch bearers for truth and freedom in the world; not because we say truth and freedom but because truth and freedom are correct. That said, our military doesn't conduct itself like this. I know my dad didn't in Vietnam, and my grandpa didn't in WWII. Hats off to the troops. Shackles on to the perpetrators of these crimes.
Mr. Moon, I suggest you take a good hard look at yourself and try to examine why you react with hatred to anyone who does not share your same viewpoint. This is a pattern of behavior that you repeatedly exhibit. Please try to control your emotions.
