So we have some innuendo of a loose connection via Prague that is unproven. Rumsfeld isn't even willing to go on record as confirming this rumor. And this is justification for waging a full blown war on a sovereign country? Why aren't we bombing N. Korea? They admitted to having bombs. Again, "War on Drugs" doesn't mean we invade Columbia. Okay, this bickering is silly and gets us nowhere. Fact is, we are in this war and we need to finish what we started. We can't (ahem) cut and run. Damn I hated saying that. I'll just be sure not to cast my vote for W next time and hope we don't have any more videos like what surfaced today.
I'm not touching that video either....I don't even think I have strength to move my mouse over the link
Yeah I hate it when I get into these internet debates but they're addiccttinng like freaking sushi I'm about to consume. Ever play basketball in the rain? It's nuts. But yeah, it's gotten ridiculous over there. I hate seeing this stuff on the news.
I watched the video right before I left work. I watched it with 3 guys I work with, we stood in disblief. I my head hurt and I had a horrible feeling. We can put the blame on the idiots running the prison, this is all on them. +++
Austin70: You can't blame anything Al Qaeda does on anything the American war criminals did. AQ would have done their worst either way. The prison stuff will be great for AQ's recruiting efforts and it'll set back American-Arab relations a lot (I think it was Wolfowitz or some similar neo-con who said it would set relations back a generation, so it's hard to overestimate the impact), but it didn't cost the American guy his life. Once he was picked up by AQ he was already dead.
at first when i heard the news, i had an urge to come in here and blame the administration, our foreign policy, prison abuse, etc. etc... but then I watched the video... and all i have to say is that it totally freaked the hell out of me. f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k f**k !!!!!
Lil, the mistake is in believing one side can cause the other to act in a certain way. AQ's wrong if they think terrorism will cause us to change our foreign policy and the Bush WH is wrong if they think force will put a real dent in terrorism. The events aren't related in any meaningful way. AQ is going to kill Americans whenever and wherever they can, as long as they exist. And they can't be bombed out of existence. And they aren't afraid to die anyway. We need to maintain a strong, tough foreign policy and we need to get Bin Laden, but the way to counter terror is through the hearts and minds of the next generation of potential AQ recruits. That's the most troubling thing about the prison scandal, but none of it has any bearing on the poor guy that got his head cut off. That was just terrorists being terrorists.
don't watch them, its not worth the curiosity... back in the 70's my father went to watch the public hand chopping of a guy who had robbed the bank he worked at. well lets just say, he didnt eat, drink, sleep for almost 4 days... and still to this day can't watch movies that have any sort of torture and this wasn't even a beheading... im not going to watch those vids, just the clips before the beheading that was on tv gave me the creeps. its all good in movies, but when you know its real. it really hurts... and the images last long...
Back to the video: Does anyone here know FOR SURE when Berg was actually killed? I've heard some talk that this may have been done weeks ago, BEFORE the prison torture tapes were released. Anyone know or have a link to the dateline of this killing?
http://www.michaelsavage.com I can't bring myself to watch it and don't plan to. The description alone is enough for me.
that video literally made me sick. i dont care what politics or agendas people may have, to actually do that to another human being while screaming "God is great" is atroscious. how in the hell do you rationalize beheading an innocent civilian in the name of God? i hope they enjoy their eternity in hell.
No way on earth would I watch that. What would possibly motivate me to want to witness another human being being put to death?
very sad, no way i'll watch that movie. I just read he was supposed to leave Iraq on March 30th. Rip +
Those companies must be offering workers a sh*tload of money to go over there. I just saw a story on channel 13 yesterday about a group of 50 people from Houston going over there for work.
