Not much out there on Sammy D. but these are pretty good videos of what kind of player he still is today. Most of the Sixers highlights are too old to base on what he can still bring to the table. Overall, a great bargain, provides inside presence, block shots, and overall a very nice guy. I don't think we can find much footage of his rebounding capabilities which will help out this club tremendously. I foresee less second chance points for our opponents and more for us in the future. He has plenty of quite impressive footage against elite players in his Sixers days. Good signing for Houston.
Yes, it definitely improves our ball club. I really do hope that Morey will be able to swing for a big trade using the assets that we have, or else we'll still be stuck in that middle territory. It'll be nice to see the Rockets make the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed, but at the end of the day I would still prefer winning a championship. So, hopefully we'll be able to acquire a superstar through trade because w/ Sammy we won't be tanking this year.
He is the kind of player that will have one great game and wow you. Everyone will be talking about the potential. Then he will disappear for next 3-4 games and frustrate you. Rinse, and repeat. Pre-order plenty of Rogaine and get ready to pull some hairs.
What potential? He's already 30 years old. He is what he is. A shot blocker and a rebounder. I don't think he was signed due to his "potential" or whatever. Just don't expect him to be an offensive force.
You can live with the one great game every 3-4 games, as long as the defense and rebounding are consistently there. We don't need him to score anyway, anything he adds on the offensive end is a plus.
any news on the holdup of his contract? did he pass his medical? is he at practice? nothing is official yet...
Go the other Dalembert threads...... The holdup is because they are not sure if they cut Lin, trade Flynn, Goran...
Its easier to slack off when your team sucks, like in Philly and in Sacramento. If your team is playing competitively every night I see him putting in 100% every night.
I read from a kings forum that dalebert doesnt come in shape..i dont know why..and i also read his career averages is 24 minutes per game..why is this?? why not 30 min per game?
I've always thought he was mediocre at best when I watched him with the sixers years ago. I'm not excited about his signing, but I do hope he doesn't get in the way of us earning a top 3 pick.
