R2K I first want to say thank you for the Torrent it is much appreciated. Don't take this the wrong way, M_cable is correct, I host Alot of files from my PC on BT -Don't know if I should have disclosed that- files ranging from 6 to 10 GB. Superseding is really a no no, when your hosting large files, even 600 MB is bad When you deselect Superseed mode and just give it out to a few guys maybe 6 or 8 initially the file gets transferred to the entire swarm much faster as opposed to being on supersede. out of that 6 or 8 guys a few guys will be jerks and cut out of seeding, that will leave 4 left to seed for the others while your own PC can leave and not have to waste your own bandwith anymore seeding for others -that's of course if your using someone else's tracker. When your on supersede the quantity of how much your uploading your total UPload will be much more than what your original file amounted to. For example your uploading around 700 MB, as the host on supersede mode, you will eventually upload more than 700 MB say around maybe 2 or 3 Gigs before you get anybody that would have completed their torrent and can help you seed for the rest of the peers. Becus on supersede everybody has "equal rights" with equal distribution. Trust me R2k you will get a much faster torrent dispersal with fellow seeders available faster limiting the original or cut off upoad to just a few clients. With my own experience I had way back one one of my first hosting BT duties, I started with a 6 gig file on supersede and uploaded a bloody whopping 20 gigs before I saw any peers completed to help me seed the original 6 gig file. Why waste the bandwith? right? let other contributers help you out faster than doing all by yourself. If your not using supersede mode now Forget everything I just said, with my sincere apoligies, -I don't want to piss off the guy endulging my viewing pleasure.
I did test out Superseed for a few minutes... but it dropped my output speeds down...so I quickly switched it off. My upload speeds are maxed out....But have faith guys...Im showing 16 ppl with over 70% completed...the speeds will go up soon... I dont know what happened to my server admin...RL must have interferred...but it will open up eventually.... Im showing 435 ppl in the swarm...so the speeds will pick up soon...as it is..Im showing a total swarm speed of 1.2MB/s right now...just be patient
Hi R2K, I dont know much about the Bittorrent stuff, but after reading all the seeding stuff, it came to me that if you could just send some files or allow some people download via sendit or ftp ... then there could be several seeds (say 10) to start. Would that improve the overall speed? I for one could host one seed. Maybe I am wrong, just a thought. Thanks for your work, really appreciate it!
I'm one of the ppl at 70%. What do I need to do in order for others to be able to pull from my box? Just leave the client running? (I'm running the BitTorrent client.)
It is best to have a few pl with fast upload speed to be seeders. I only have a regular cable connection. There gotta be a few guys on universities network and have 10M upload speed.
exactly. Just leave it open. The torrent program should automatically switch to just uploading (seeding). I am at 84.2%, only downloading at roughly 22kb and uploading at 40kb. .....damn that pisses me off.

Man, now I am down to 10-11kbs. And still uploading around 45kb. ARGH!? Why is the uploading so high compared to my downloading. I guess I am not going to watch this tonight. Damnit.
This wont always be a problem...The server I store the videos at is normally the main seed for this...and it has wide, fast pipes...anyone that has gotten one of these in a couple of hours knows what Im talking about... Weekends are a problem cause the server admin sometimes gets caught away from a computer due to RL issues and isnt available to start the seeds...there isnt much I can do about it....the choice was either wait to post these till I knew the server could seed...or post it when it was ready and just deal with the slower speeds.. I figured you guys would go crazy waiting....so we deal with it. Alot of you initial peers will have it complete in just a couple more hours...Im counting over 25 peers with over 80%...and those are just the ones that are connected directly to me....Im only seeing 80 peers connected to me out of over 480 total peers. I think it safe to say....just leave your programs running and by morning you will have it complete. Then you can get up...and have breakfast while watching the game.. Go get some sleep..it will help keep you from going nuts wondering about the downlaod speeds.
I am only downloading at 8kB/s. Guess I won't be able to watch it tonight. R2K, thanks a lot and good night!
Thanks for seeding this R2K. I know, my late night b****ing must be getting annoying. as long as it stays above 20kb a sec downloading, I should be done in roughly 1hr. I am connected to 80 peers too. Again, thanks for seeding this even when it is coming just from your connection. I really wanted to watch this again before the Kings game. Well, I'm at 89%.
