This thread makes me wonder whether the Rockets would have advanced to the 2nd round in the past few years if the 1st series were still Best-of-5...
Great vid! It's one thing to just not make it and still have hope (a la the Rockets the last 10+ years) but it's another to trade or let your best players walk year after year to save salary. It's like they are deliberately trying not to win!?!?!?!? So my question is (after seeing him in the video) - Is Billy Crystal still a Clippers fan? After all the silly trades and trying to delete payroll over the last 20+ years the act has gotten old, but just wanted to see if anyone knew if Crystal was still a Clippers fan or if he grew tired of it as well?
That was a pretty good team if you think about it. Hakeem was the best big man in the game, Horry was extremely athletic in addition to his shooting, Thorpe was Tim Duncun-like on defense, Kenny Smith was a poor man's Steve Nash, and Maxwell was very similar to what Ron Artest is now. Too bad they got hosed against Seattle. It's also important to realize that during the following offense, the Rockets got Mario Elie and drafted Sam Cassel.
nah, i still got an "a" on that test. it was Old Testament. I still remember the look on the professor's face when I walked in nearly an hour late to a 2 hour final with a Rockets shirt on.
