What exactly is the point of this question? Again, I would probably choose something off the wall and not what you are assuming. Why is race a less determining factor when statistics show a strong majority of white males do this, just like the ones on gangs members show a strong majority of black males doing that?

Why are you picking the young black man to have baggy pants and tattoos? I realize that you finished your post that a gang banger can be of any race, but its pretty telling what your stance is with the people in your example. Im very well of all statistics, but when Im getting on a bus and there is a black person on one side and a white person on the other, my only concern is that I find a seat so I dont have to stand for the entire trip.

The point of the question is to demonstrate that it is not racist to pick out the black man with the tattoos and baggy pants as the gangster because LOGICALLY that is the MOST LIKELY profile for a gangster. Does that make you a racist? But here is another example of how profiling is not being racist but just acknowledging facts and what is MORE LIKELY. What or who do you think about when you hear the word terrorists/suicide bombers? You think of someone from the middle east and most likely claims to be a Muslim. Who do you think about when you hear the word illegal immigrant? You most likely are talking about someone who can barely speak english and of mexican origins. Who or what do you think about when you hear the word gangster, robbery, thug? You think of a young black male. Even comedians like Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle acknowledge this fact since most of their black jokes revolve around these facts. Based on those facts you can very well choose to not leave your kids with middle age white men. But you fail to see how that SCENARIO is not likely to happen and how the two scenarios are completely different. You only leave your children with people who you know well. The other scenarios mentioned you know nothings about the people that are around you. Sorry I said I would stop arguing in this thread since I think this belongs in the debate forum but just wanted to answer your question.
It doesnt matter what the more likely race is. I just found it pretty amusing that in your example, you chose a black dude to wear baggy pants and not an asian or white dude. Its not like its rare to find another race wearing baggy pants or sporting tattoos. I dont make decisions based on race, I'll make them based on appearance and how they present themselves.

OK, I am going to make your logic fail. Yes, I would choose the black person but I wouldn't base it on race, it would be based on dress, something I said I would judge a person on previously. Dress any of the others in something similar and guess who I would pick then, them. I'm not prejudging based on race, it is on dress. How does this make me racist? Thanks for trying. I don't think of anybody as this so long as they have not done it. I don't assume or think Middle Easterners are terrorists and a picture of them does not pop in my head once that word is mentioned. I don't think of Mexicans when illegal immigrants are mentioned because as you said, they are other illegal immigrants from other countries. Gangster, robbery and thug do not make me think of young black males exclusively. Strike 1, Strike 2, Strike 3. When did they say it is OK to go around and judge unknown black people because of this? I am aware of the facts, I just don't judge unknown people by their race based on these facts. That makes me not a racist.
