Simply put, I'd rather be shallow than naive. Some of us aren't trying to win the Nobel Peace Prize with our everyday decisions, we're just trying to stay safe. Here's a hypothetical: Would you rather be a. morally corrupt and alive b. morally just and dead
Again, I am not going prejudge somebody simply because of the color of their skin no matter what the situation. You can if you want, it's your prerogative to do so. I don't think it is right but you see no problem with it. I'll leave it at that. I see race was not brought up in this question. Good job!
I read that the boyfriend knew the black girls and that he was supposed to have stolen an iphone for them and he didn't. So then after he left the party that he and the black girls were at, they got on the bus with him and demanded to know where their Iphone was. He said he would get it for them, but they apparently thought he was lying so they took it out on his girlfriend. Yall don't know the whole story. It is very likely that the boyfriend was a thief, the black girl's were pregnant beaters, and the girlfriend was dating a scumbag thief.
Your analogy fails AGAIN. Of course I am going to keep my child away from white males if I know NOTHING about them. If you don't do this you clearly are a bad parent. You are ignoring the facts again and making up situations that are totally different. Again I am just asking you to apply some rationale and logic here. In the subway/bus scenario you know nothing about the people around you. In order to protect yourself you are going to make a LOGICAL (apparently you are lacking this) decision on how to best protect yourself and your family. You are not just going to random leave your kid with random people. You would profile, research the heck out of them and get to know them before you do such a thing.
and where did you read this?? source? seems like just some random internet poster wrote that till there are some facts to back this up.
Does not compute So if the guy didn't steal the iPhone for the black girls, how is he a thief? Either way, the black girls were in the wrong
Yeah, I wouldn't leave my child with just anybody but molestation and rape often occurs with somebody the child/person knows particularly well and is often a family member or close family friend. If I hopped on a bus, subway, train, whatever and felt unsafe I am going to avoid everybody and not just one subset of people. That is how I would stay safe.
Somehow you refused to answer my hypothetical, I guess you are half admitting to some moral corruptness?
I don't think I am totally just but I am not totally corrupt either. I am not perfect but I don't prejudge ANYBODY simply based on their race.
Seems entirely false. I imagine it's fairly easy to look at phone records and figure out whose phone it was, so if it truly belonged to one of the black girls, they would have been able to prove it. Yet, according to the news story, the police got involved and the black girls were charged.
Well if you choose to ignore facts then its your right to do so also. And you ignored all my questions also. So let's take the scenario I described above and apply race to it and answer this question. You are offered a chance at one million dollars to pick out the gangster among a old white man in a suit, a old Chinese lady, a young woman in a dress, and a young black man with baggy pants, tattoos and chains. Who would you pick??? You are telling me you would refuse to take a guess because you refuse to judge someone by their appearance? Also I know the gangster can be any race again. I think you are just missing a key point. I am not saying all black people are gangsters and thugs but that most gangsters in America are black. To say this isnt being racist but just acknowledging facts.
Also, most of you might not know but my father is black and my mother is white so I am around both races pretty regular so maybe I have some sort of weird advantage there in not judging, I don't know.
Honestly, more than likely, I would go with the oddball choice because I would think it is a trick question. As I have acknowledged, white males are more likely to commit the crimes I listed but you said in that instance it was different. Why? I am just acknowledging a fact.
Yes because one can change their clothing, cleanliness and speech. I fail to see how somebody can change their race.
not a trick question at all.... completely fair question and no tricks behind it. Who would you choose based on facts, stats and experience? It is a completely different scenario with child molesters. You are right it is most likely someone they know so it is a lot harder to determine and there is a lot less you can do to avoid. Also if you research the list of registered sex offenders lists or Meagans law you will clearly see race has a lot less determining factor and it is a lot harder to profile a child molester than say a gangster. If you ever watched To Catch a Predator you will know what i mean since half of them were lawyers, doctors, etc.
