Nope. The largest criminal gang in the LA area is the 18th Street gang (AKA Mara 18), made up of mostly Latino members and whites. Not to mention other gangs made of of primarily these same types such as the Latin Kings & Queens Nation, MS-13, etc. Not surprising either really considering that Latinos make up about 50% of LA's population while blacks account for 10%. In NYC, the Latin Kings & Queens Nation is the largest, if you believe the HBO special that was done on them. Blacks and Latinos make up about 25% and 27% of NYC's population so this isn't too surprising either.

I can ACKNOWLEDGE THIS FACT unlike you who simply wants to ignore facts and want to live a fantasy society where everyone is equal and the same. Unfortunately that will never the case. So to show you I was not singling out blacks if I was in a neighborhood where latino gangs were a huge issue you bet i am going to avoid anyone that looks like a LATINO gang member. Again its called being AWARE. If i am aware this neighborhood has a huge AFRICAN AMERICAN gang problem what is wrong to avoid someone who looks like a AFRICAN AMERICAN gangster? That is part of the profile for a black gang member right? Same goes for the Latino or asian or white gang member. If I am aware there is a huge gang problem in the area and most of the gangs are latinos. You would do the same. You would use their appearance which includes their skin color as a factor and determine if they are more likely to be a gang member to avoid. These are just facts and has nothing to do with race specifically.
If you were in an area dominated by a minority group population and you saw a white person dressed in "thug" or "gangster" motif, would you avoid them? Their population numbers in such areas maybe low but they do exist. The area of Compton, you mentioned before, as a white population of almost 17%, pretty significant. Would you avoid whites in this area? If so, then why bring up race at all if you are going to avoid that area and ALL of those people.
To be honest I'd rather be on a transit bus full of snotty little teens than being in a fast food joint with a fat chick complaining about her chicken mcnuggets and holding up the damn line...
I love when racists try to justify their views by saying it's "fact". It is a fact that people are raised in different environments, it is not a fact that people are naturally inclined to be worse people based on their race.
The point Im making is that you should base your decisions on their appearance, not their race. If you walk onto a bus and there is a well dressed black man and a well dressed white man, do you still have a preference on where you sit? Obviously, if you get on a bus and there is a group of people dressed like gang members and another group dressed in suits, you choose the people in suits...because in this case, the group dressed like gang members IS MORE LIKELY to cause trouble. And Im well aware of that. But it has nothing to do with if they are black or white or pink. The decision should have nothing to do with race. That's where you are wrong and that's where you are making yourself look like a racist, whether you believe that or not.

I think the economics play a big part in it. I live in Detroit and a lot of crimes have something to do with money. If you dont have it rob someone who does hell even kill if you have to. Yes thats wrong but thats the way things are. If there were more jobs here I believe crimes rate wouldnt be so high.
Just jumping into this debate and want to put my opinion. Black Americans are the most racist people in U.S. (not including blacks who have accents from Africa, the Caribbeans, etc.) You must think I'm a racist by stating this, but I have encountered many racist blacks. Of course I have also encountered many nice blacks and have some black friends myself. But with experiences of racism towards me, most have come from blacks. Black people used to want equality. Now they want superiority.
You have not encountered racism towards you. Maybe, if you're an Asian, you might have. It's absolutely wrong to call a black person anything negative, such as the N word. But no Asian can cry foul if a black person calls him names.
That was a disturbing video. I am not a race and just refuse to believe pigmentation of skin is going to drastically change someone's behavior. I see other reasons and roots for these issues, I am convinced if you took those very same mean spirited girls and put them in a family home at 2 and a good school, they would be bought up and turn out differently. yes there are still moral and value issues with those who are educated and have a socioeconomic background, but the percentages are on the other side entirely, so I am a believer this behavior, hs drop out rates, jail rates is not so much bc someone is just merely darker than the other, but more of a socioeconomic background among other experiences and how and what type of environment they are bought up in. That said, I recently actually interacted with the endangered spider monkey species closely, interesting enough they go through my pockets and hang on bars and mess with eachother and if they get angry they can be violent as well, although the ones I met and time i met them they were fine. These kids disturbingly remind me of them, once again, read above and know i just don't buy racism, simply don't buy them. But these kids, and I don't care what 'color' they are, literally behave like monkeys or animals, but with such malicious intent its just disturbing and unfortunate to see. I am not sure why any of the other passengers did not separate the girl once it was announced she was pregnant.
I really admire MLK. What he did was amazing, putting his black people on equal playing field with the white race. But sadly, now the blacks think they are superior. Have you encountered situations where blacks call even white people racist names in public? I have. But it is perfectly okay for them to do it. If only MLK was still alive, he would have a strong voice to let blacks know how to be humble. Look at songs these days, sung by blacks and admired by blacks also. "I'm a self-made trillionaire"...
I never have problems associating with blacks who emigrated here, you know, the ones with accents from countries like Jamaica and Africa. These people are always the easiest to talk to and always helpful and hard working. What I'm talking about are the African Americans.
