Typical hoochie mama's doing what they do best. Being unstable, causing drama, attacking others, singing Soulja Boy. Then you have drama queen's like Lil Pun coming in here telling us not to judge in a manner similar to a girl who brings home a different guy every weekend. Hehe, I have to kiss alot of frogs before I find my prince xoxo. Jokes on you, kid. Judgment is necessary in certain situations to ensure your survival and provide the best life for those around you. It's what separates the naive and easy to fool from the weathered. But there is something strange about the way the guy defended the girl. It comes off as chivalrous to us, but he didn't state his case, call them any names, ask them what the **** they were talking about, ask the bus to stop... it was almost as if he expected it. Since we're judging black people, why not judge the motives of a teenage white guy with a pregnant teenage girlfriend. Probably short on cash, had some on the side deals going on, this one didn't come through, black girls couldn't call up the 5-0 so they handled this streets style on the METRO. They were just taking care of business, like any pimp who's been wronged by a client. Or maybe it's a poor person thing, I'm not sure.
You could come back with what RR's comment, but it wouldn't be any less misguided than when he said it. Let me explain this very clearly for you. Imagine there are 100 scratch off lottery tickets of type A, and 30 of them are winners. Also imagine there are 20 scratch off lottery tickets of type B, and 15 of them are winners. All winners are of equal value. Now, with that knowledge at hand, imagine you were walking down the street and came across a type A ticket and a type B ticket side by side. Given that you can only take one of them, which do you pick up? A smart person would obviously choose type B, because even though there are more type A winners than type B winners, there is a higher probability (75% vs. 30%) that any individual type B ticket would be a winner. This is despite the fact that there are actually twice as many winning type A tickets in circulation. Understand yet? Good. It's the same reasoning that makes total number of offenders irrelevant for anything we've been talking about in this thread. Economics probably has less to do with it, more like the environment. There are plenty of poor areas, but you don't see the same type of violence etc. I think what bill cosby said was true. You have a lot of broken families single parent household where the mother can't really be taking care of the kids etc. 60 minutes did a story about charter schools and how when they take the kids out of their existing environment and teach them they are as likely to succeed as anyone else.
I think we all understand. You want us to inject black teenagers with estrogen shots so their aggressiveness can become more controlled by the structure based white man. You win. The blacks lose. You win at being a better racist than someone who is more concerned with say... socio-economic issues. What percentage of black families with a 50k or more median salary have kids involved in drugs or violent crimes... compared to whites? What are the factors that cause generation after generation of a family to live in the ghetto? Why are Islamic people angry at the West? It's the smug sense of entitlement that you and Christopher Columbus preach that causes a lot of the misunderstanding between whites and minorities.
There are 300 million people in the US, if I am in the middle of a group of one of all races/ethnicities of the US, which is more likely to be the molester, based on percentages and numbers? Like I said, we can keep going back and forth. People knowing probability and percentages don't always use them to them. People pretty much know that slot machines have the lowest probability of winning yet these are the most popular casino games. Again, exactly what did I lose? I've said we could keep going back and forth and you're not going to agree with me and I am not going to agree with you.
Aren't those parts of LA you refer to the poorer parts? Show me an affluent neighborhood you're afraid to walk through.
Your post above this one singles out young black men, basing it on race. If you based it on dress I may understand but when you single out a race and judge them beforehand I fail to see how it is not being racist.
I'll go ahead and be the most logical. You're not going to make me see how you think it is right to judge and I am not going to make you see how it is wrong. Most logical reasoning yet, no?
I think Samaritan Law prevents person A from getting charged by person B for any acts performed in the life-saving (?) assistance of person B. The third or fourth worst episode of Seinfeld fictiously arrested J, E, G and K for not assisting someone who was getting robbed. Fictitious because people usually can't get prosecuted for being bystanders to criminal acts.
A great example of diffusion of responsibility: no one did anything to step in and help the couple. Probably because they were afraid of being sued, criticized by a politically correct public, or just getting stabbed and/or shot. It's hard to not profile when you have animals like these out in the open. I don't blame anyone who does the same to a person dressed in a thawb (traditional Arab garb) at the airport. I feel sorry for those who have to rely on public transportation and face these feral people. They are a byproduct of terrible government policies enacted after the Civil Rights era, poverty, crime-ridden environments, and parents that didn't raise them well. You can argue that this isn't based on race so much as socio-economics and such (with which I agree), but that's irrelevant in a country like the US where the majority of people think otherwise. Like the very people they criticize, their growing numbers don't bode well for the future of this country, and it's foolish to ignore them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The highest-rated/thumbed-up comments from AOL/Yahoo: "I don't WANT to be prejudiced towards ANY race, but by God I'm damned well SICK of the violence wrought by blacks and their GANGBANGER mentality. An 80 year old man was recently SLAUGHTERED in a supermarket parking lot in my city. The bastards jumped him as he was getting out of his car. he was beaten unconcious, then shot 4 times as he lay on the ground. Know what the black co**suckers gained for their murderous act? 43 dollars. The man was going into the store to pick up an anniversary cake for his wife of almost 60 years. God bless him, and God HELP any of the souless F**KS that try the same with ME. I'm lucky enough to live in a state that is fairly easy to obtain a permit to carry a weapon, and I DO. I'll be damned if I'll go down without taking some of them with me." "cant take the jungle out of them" "People better be prepared to defend themselves. The liberal press, lawyers and courts aren't going to do it. I just got my concealed carry permit and I intend to to what the government has failed to do." "How much more exposure would this sick crime have gotten if five white girls had attacked a black girl? If not for the video, we would never have known that racist blacks attacked a white girl. Typical PC reporting." "slavery had its good points. They had jobs and were not shooting each other."
I think it has more to do with the bystander effect than people not thinking so critically in a sudden situation. It's pretty easy, if you try. Who are these feral people? Who is the "they"?
Bystander effect refers to what I said, which is termed diffusion of responsibility. You were thinking of something else? It really isn't for most people. Read more about cognitive psychology and you'll see why; it goes against millions years of evolution. Also, I took an intro course on multivariate stats in addition to having a broad understanding of political science, economics, and sociology. So I can assure you I have slightly more valid, empirical reasons to profile versus the average person who simply assumes black people by nature have certain negative traits. Besides, I acknowledged that the 5 girls' acts were results of socio-economic problems and not on phenotypes of their skin color. The kind who'd steal someone's property in public, deceive a crowd of on-lookers that it belonged to them, and use physical force to squash any protests - especially on someone they know is with child. I saw a similar incident in Paris and Osaka, and I labeled the criminals who did it in the same language. My diction was independent of their ethnicity and skin color. They is the growing number of uneducated and poor Americans who are jaded with the status quo. Most of them are in the Tea Party, and most of them are non-Hispanic whites. Many of the racist comments from AOL/Yahoo had criticisms of the Obama administration and Democrats. That is who my "they" refers to.
yes it is the poorer parts.. and here is a question for you.. Who lives in those poorer parts???? See this has nothing to do with singling out a certain race but acknowledging facts. Cant deny this so how is realizing this being racist or judgemental??
I am not singling out a race because I want to. It unfortunately is a fact that you are more likely to run into trouble say in NY or LA by black gang members than say white or asian gang members is it not???
There are good people in the poorer parts and there are bad people in the affluent parts. There are poor sections where white, black, Asian, Hispanic, Latino, etc. live. Are these segregated sections less about race and more about socio-economic status and and government programs and mandates? Why does race need to be brought up? Couldn't you just say and feel "I avoid that area due to high crime rates." instead of "I avoid that area because that's where the blacks stay." That is my specific reason of avoid Fraser in the Memphis area, high crime rates and the reason I avoid the north side of my hometown where crime is highest yet the population is majority white. I could give a crap about who lives there and what their skin color is.
