Man, Crisco just told you that what I said happened is what happened. AFTER T.O. gets knocked down by Teague he simply gets up and goes to the star AGAIN. Geez look up some highlight films if you don't believe me. That gif you posted doesn't show the whole thing.
During that "all-out chaos", TO did the applause thing again, but it was brief, and it didn't stand out as much since there were other players out there doing stuff. I'll expound on my feelings on it later ... though I'm probly in the minority on this board. And it's not the "truth" its an opinion.
Oh please? We've gone to 3 pages now on a discussion of Terrell Owens dancing. How many pages were devoted to a discussion of the Eagles-Ravens game itself on this site? Billy White Shoes Johnson, Icky Woods and the Icky Shuffle, Ernest Givins and his Electric Slide, the Atlanta Falcons and their "Dirty Bird", it's all part of the show. Even Barry Sanders got aclaim for his professionalism by always handing the ball off to the ref, that he never would have gotten had those other "unprofessional" guys not been around to draw a contrast to. Football is a game where players are hidden under helmets and layers of armor and uniforms that serve to make everyone the same. Celebrations add a level of humanity and personality that's missing otherwise. And besides, it's a game. It's not life and death. It's meant to be fun.
Also, ESPN is running a poll and so far 76.8% os people found the dance amusing while the other 23.2 found it unnecessary. Even Berman and Jackson were cracking up yesterday on Primetime.
Owens did get back up after the Teague hit and go back and stand on the star at least for a while. This incident seems to have been universally praised unlike some of TO's other stuff. i also thought it was hilarious. and he did a pretty good job with it. however, nothing can top the sharpie for me. it was so original you couldn't see it coming. jumping into the stands, dances with teammates, spiking the ball, even imitating someone else, all have been done. whipping out a sharpie and signing the ball and handing it to someone? awesome. what makes it even better is that you have to have the sharpie on you before the play to do it. al michaels couldn't even believe what he was seeing for a while. even when joe horn did the cell phone thing it just made people think back to the sharpie incident. a classic moment. as for Owens not getting enough attention as a child, if you what you see on TV and read can be believed, he didn't. apparently he grew up with his grandmother who made him go to bed at some ridiculous hour like 8 every night, and he wasn't allowed to go beyond his own yard during the day. oh, and he had a crush on the girl across the street and then was told he shouldn't have one because IT WAS HIS FREAKIN' SISTER. who i think was living with either his dad or stepdad or something. now that's creepy. if that doesn't mess you up and make you act out like he does now then i don't know what would. TO is nothing is not entertaining. and for some reason VesceySux's "oh snap. i ain't seen nothing" line after the stabbing has me rolling.
The only reason this was so funny is because he made fun of another idiot doing idiot things in a game. I don't like T.O. Most people don't like T.O. not because he prances around like a little girl, they don't like him because he does that and he's an a-hole. The way he talks about Garcia being gay, and his overall game. The way he complained about coaching after a game when he dropped a key pass in the comeback. The guy's a jerk. There is nothing likable about him except yesterday.
Exactly - probably one of the few times we have ever agreed on anything here. Owens is, I feel, the biggest punk in the NFL, who hopefully will get his some day, but Ray Lewis is probably the only ex-Cane that I really don't care for. If Owens was imitating anyone other than Ray Lewis, I guarantee you that more people would be upset about it. BTW - I work out with a guy who went to UT-Chattanooga about the same time as Owens and even had a class or two with him. Said Owens was a smart guy, i.e. made good grades, was huge back then and a pretty humble individual. He told me that he can't believe that he acts like he does now. I think he does this **** just like Dennis Rodman and his schtick - helps him get more notoriety and money plus I think he, like Rodman, is a little crazy.
Bingo, the only good thing about that yesterday was it was the second biggest a-hole in the game picking on the first biggest a-hole.
I wish I could take credit for it, but I got that quote from a hilarious SNL "TV Funhouse" skit on Ray Lewis. (Yeah, that's right. I steal material. You gonna do something about it?)
Smigel is a friggin genius man. That skit was amazing. "Disney now acknowledges that Trent Dilfer sucks... and would now like to give recognition to the real star of the Super Bowl Champion Ravens... Ray Lewis"
The POM POMS was by far the greatest Esp in the Video Game Commercial with Mike Vick I loved the star .. I'm from houston so I hate dallas Sharpie was a distant 3rd Rocket River
