I feel the same way about most other music that is not included in rap, r&b, soul, blues, etc.

Probably a topic for another thread, but I don't think there is a single genre of music which I have been able to discredit entirely. Within each genre I've been able to find at least one style or artist which I enjoy listening to. I've never understood how some people, unless they are close-minded, are able to totally discredit rap/hip hop. There are so many unique styles in that genre that it amazes me that someone can't find one that appeals to their musical sensibilities.

Maybe I felt the same way and just jumped the gun. Sorry.

I don't know why I quoted you because I wasn't referring to you specifically or trying to call you out. It's just something I thought to myself after seeing Nero's post and your reply.

Actually you're right. Some of it actually sounds decent, mostly when I am watching a movie or something, and it fits the context. I think really, though, I guess I am referring to the people who spend more on their car audio than they spent on their car, feel that it is both their right and their obligation to roll their windows down, and turn their crap up so loud that it shakes the windows of all the other cars around at the stop light, thus generously forcing everyone nearby to share in the gangsta bounty :D

My fave is when the trunk on someones '92 Oldsmobile goes BBRRRRRNNNNKKK!!!!

Don't these people know they will be deaf by age 30?

Anyway, the 'good-sounding' stuff (rap? hip-hop? Don't even know what to call it actually) never seems to be the stuff that these people are forcing everyone around them to listen to. Rather, it usually seems to be along the lines of 'mf this and mf that' and sounds exactly the same as every other bit of it.

Maybe that's 'keepin' it real', whatever that means.

I'll agree that he was being a puss when Weird Al did his Eminem variation, but Ja Rule bringing his daughter into it is crossing the line. Ja Rule has always been a little b****.

Hip-hop has some great artists. The problem is they aren't sell-outs looking for an easy buck.

Do to Pandora, look under Genre Stations / Hip Hop / Underground Hip Hop. You want talent. You just found it.

Gangsta rap killed hip-hop. The underground scene is the only thing keeping the pulse going. Get out from under the Billboard and listen to the beat beneath your feet.

Ja Rule always was a little b**** who only got famous because Irv Gotti sold enough crack to get a record label.

50 Cent's "Wanksta" ended his career.

    Hilarious.

Fiddy was crazy good on mixtapes... Too bad just like the rest of them as soon as he got his first check he went pop.

That is what I see the haters calling him around here, hence the usage.
