Seeing as how he can't shoot jumpers extremely well, he would have to be the opposite of a Rip, maybe a Monta Ellis-type finisher, to do well in this league.

    We'll see.

I'd rather have CDR than Batum.

Batum will be good but won't be ready to contribute next year where help is most needed as we're going for a championship next season.

And I don't get it...why do some people want Lee over CDR?

He is an intelligent decision maker which impressed me. I think he will be gone before the 25th pick anyway.

With his good shooting skills and a high bball IQ he seems like a good fit for our system. I Don't think it would be a bad pick. Although, i like Rush quite a bit.

No, it was a mistake. The video clearly showed him as 6'1".

Hopefully if Brandon Rush is not there, this guy is. Maybe we can ship Luther Head to move up a few picks in the draft.

I like CDR. He can hit shots with either hand going in ANY direction. He's certainly not your traditional scorer, so it's really hard to project how he'll do on the next level. If his game translates to the NBA, and that's a big if, he'd be a great value pick at #25. He'd put a lot of pressure on opposing defenses for sure. That's something we just don't have off the bench right now.

holy crap the vid said he was 6'1 and i nearly fell off my chair. then i saw he was 6'7 and he clearly looks it.

i would LOVE CDR. he's a straight up baller who can ATTACK the basket and create his own shot, which is what this team sorely needs. i'm honestly suprised this guy isn't projected to be at least a mid-first rounder.

btw, does anyone else see Josh Howard written all over this guy?

howard was a late pick because scouts said he was an all around player but couldn't do one thing particularly well. now look at him.

if theres one player CDR reminds me of its Josh Howard.

CDR is exactly what the Rockets do not need. He isn't athletic, doesn't have range, and dear god... Not another guard who can't dribble (Wesley, Head, Sura, etc). I also don't see upside. If he is the best player available (which he very well may be) at 25 then hopefully we trade the pick.
    Kirk Snyder>CDR due to athleticism
Head>CDR due to shooting (when Yao is on floor)

Rush is the guy you want CDR to be. Trade up for Rush, take a C, or get the heck out of the 1st RD.

I can see some similarities. I think Josh Howard had an advantage because of his athletic ability.Skill wise CDR looks close to a rookie Josh Howard.

Snyder good size, much better athleticism, but with low IQ,and poor ball-handling,weaker outside shot.Taking wild shots. CDR only shoots within his mid-range shots when he is wide open.

Head more range as a 3 point shooter but CDR has considerably better ball handling than him and is a better passer and better defender too. He can come up with steals. CDR's handles aren't great but they are better than almost anyone else within the 20-25 range.I admit CDR doesn't have upside but most players within this range don't have much anyway.

His height and fairly long arms and good work ethic are all advantages. I believe he is good enough to be a late 1st rounder(off the bench role player), but if the Rockets can get a better player I'm all for it.

Rush will probably be gone before him and it's going to be hard to move up.
If the Rockets can't find anyone who can help they should move into the early part of the 2nd round. I respect your opinion, only time can tell who will pan out or who will be a bust.

I'm not a big fan of CDR because he just isn't athletic. He needs to improve his shooting ability and his strength.

This guy drives and slashes but in the NBA it won't work because well theres bigger and stronger guys. It won't work because he is only 190lbs. There is a reason he always wheres a shirt underneath his jersey. HE NEEDS TO GEt STRONGER

His shooting is subpar. Again there is a reason he drove the ball and penetrated. Like the guy said...he shoots the 3 so well its because he takes so few of them.

    Pros
-This guy has a winning mentality in that he is confident and wants to win

-Whenever he drives he finishes the basketball, but like I said he is going to have to get stronger if its going to correlate to the NBA

    LOL

All this talk about CDR not being athletic is total bull.... Just because his vertical is only 36" instead of 40" and he weighs 190 or so instead of 210, people say he is unathletic. It's simply not true. CDR is very athletic. He's just not one of the most athletic players in the draft.

It's the same thing people are saying about Rush that Rush doesn't have a handle. THat's total garbage. Just because Rush doesn't have one of the top handles like the point guards doesn't mean he doesn't have a handle. I've seen him play too much. I know he can handle.

Athleticism is not CDR's problem. Bball IQ and playing under pressure is. I think he actually has some bball iq. What I'm worried about with CDR is can he play under pressure. I still like Rush better, but I like CDR for us. However I don't think we can even get CDR or Courtney Lee at 25. They will already be gone. When Ty Lawson, Chase Budinger, and the other players left the first round, all the CDR/Lee swingman types moved up. We're gonna have to trade up to get one of them.

Not athletic, poor shooter and poor ball handling skills. I'm not a great believer in drafting the best athlete, those tests they do in the workouts like bench presses and sprints are horse crap to a degree. But damn, his skills seem lacking also, I think I would pass on the kid. He seems to be a project that would be better suited for team that is rebuilding instead of a team like the Rox who are in win now mode. I hope we can trade up for someone that can make an immediate impact.
